Best of the Big 10 Week Three & Power Rankings

At least I can still read an article by someone still drinking the black and gold koolaid....I needed to see that power ranking...because my heart wants us #1...but my head is saying we may be in trouble.

I have watched every Big Ten team play, most of them more than once. I havent seen team other than Ohio State that I believe to be better than Iowa

You have to have Wisky ahead of us at this point. We looked terrible in all phases at different points last night. We might have more talent and upside, but as of today Wisky is definately the better team.

And that's the salve I'm using on this wound. Not because of any black / gold loyalty (I am ALWAYS a guarded optimist when it comes to the Hawks) but because, this year, this team I firmly believe it to be the truth.

I just don't see it that way, as I don't think for a second Iowa looked 'terrible' in all three phases. It sounds like you are operating from a standpoint that Iowa should be able to do what it wants when it wants every time.

That never happens. The other team has a scheme and good players, too.

Wisconsin has looked lethargic, Clay out of shape, Tolzein not in control and their defense is suspect...in more than one game...they were home yesterday, too.

As of today, if these two teams played the game in Kinnick, which they will in a few weeks, but if they played right now I would favor Iowa and wouldn't even think twice about it.

Wisconsin has not looked good in a single game this year. Not one. They had no business winning the game at home yesterday against an average ASU team. We nearly beat a very good Arizona team on the road. Wisconsin has just not looked too good this season.

Jon perhaps you misunderstood what I was saying. But there can't be any debate that we looked terrible in all phases at some point. The special teams werent, the offense couldnt run the ball at all, and couldn't protect stanzi. Perhaps terrible its abit strong regarding the D, but at the very least they looked exploitable at times and soft in the back end.

I guess I don't necessarily disagree that we would head to head, which is what I suppose is the point of power rankings... But Wisky has proven it can beat a solid football team, and Iowa hasn't done that yet.

I agree with the rankings. Michigan State and Northwestern are on the rise. Wisconsin seems less than impressive.

Yesterday I mentioned the four teams that could be stumbling blocks for Iowa who are Arizona, Michigan State, Ohio State and Northwestern.

I think the Hawks will beat Penn State and Wisconsin at home and Michigan on the road.

Michigan State and Ohio State will be tough home games.

Northwestern seems to be an annual thorn in Iowa's side and the game is at Evanston this year.

That said I also believe Iowa should be ranked 2nd behind OSU.

I still look for the Hawks to go 10-2.

Definitely couldn't disagree with you more. All Wisconsin has shown so far is that they can struggle with opponents that are mediocre at best. This is a team that can only be labeled a better team because they've managed to squeek by the creampuff's that they've scheduled for their embarassingly weak nonconference schedule. I like the Badgers, but IMO all they've proved so far is that they're nowhere near the team we expected them to be.

You must not have seen Wisky play. They've been just as bad on special teams and not as good on O or D.

No one that Wisconsin has beaten is any more solid than ISU, which is to say, about as solid as chocolate pudding.
