CFP Semi Finals

Tonight is Miami and Ole Miss. My prediction is that Miami wins by two scores and its not going to be close. I don't think MIss will move the ball and I think Miami wil dominate physically, especially in the trenches.

Great game to watch. I was pulling for Ole Miss simply because their QB is very likeable, and seems like a really solid young man. And, the fact that they were screwed over by Kiffin.

I'll be pulling for Indiana, but my gut is that Oregon is going to take them down tonight.

The Ducks are healthier than they were in the first match-up, and Lanning is smart as hell, and I'm sure he relishes the idea of bursting the Cignetti hype bubble.

Not sure who wins. I think Indiana definitely has the momentum, but Lanning's got a great group and he's a hell of a coach that can learn from prior mistakes. Hard to beat a team twice in a season, but it should be a great game.

Hell of a game. Not a Miami fan by any means, but found nothing but enjoyment in the SEC not being represented in the final.
End of the day that's pretty much how I feel. It was an entertaining game that I didn't really care too much about who won. But the SEC losing is probably where I'm the most happy with.

Now all the Ole Miss, Kiffin assistant coaches drama can be put to bed... But wait there's more!! I guess Kiffin was knee deep in the drama with that Washington QB Williams. He seems to have been tampering with him prior to Williams trying to renege on the agreement he'd just signed a few days before. If this were to get pursued and it's proven he was tampering it could tear up his contract with LSU. Not that LSU would want to. I can't see them giving a shit about that. But it's just all par for the course for all things Kiffin

I'm with you. I was kind of rooting for Ole Miss because screw Lane Kiffin. Plus, Chambliss seems like a great guy. Having said that, I'm pretty happy to see ZERO SEC teams with a chance to win the Natty.

I was wishing tonight's game would be the Championship, not the semi. Think Indiana and Oregon are the 2 best out of the 4 and would probably have met each other in the final game, if not on the same side of the bracket. Maybe they should reseed after each round like the NFL, to avoid this. Could also be planned by the committee to make sure the final is less likely to be composed of 1 conference.

For sure, Miami had it easy having to go through the $EC.

It looked this way for a while. Miami dropped how many interceptions? How many pentalties. They decided to throw the ball when they didn't need to. If only I were the coach.

The timing feels so messed up. Last night was a final four game (and turned out to be great), but feels so anti-climatic with a random Thursday, January 8th game.

When these playoffs shift to 24 teams, what would you think of the timing of the games?

Depending on the day of the week, like a final four on Dec 22, and a championship game always on New Years? Or a final four on New Years, and the championship game dragging out to the first weekend at least a week after New Years?

I hate saying it, because it means more football, but I don't want the field to expand. I'm tired of the arguments over who gets left out and what essentially comes down to a popularity contest. Ever since they expanded its become more and more of a shitshow, and while I get the point of expanding the field, I'm not sure it does anything to actually increase the number of legitimate contenders. I think the field is watered down now as it when a 3 loss Bama team gets in over a 2 loss ND who beat absolutely no one, and tbh I don't think either of them deserved to be there. I just see an expanded field as more teams that feel entitled and are getting into a championship tournament that they simply don't deserve to be in. I may be the minority here, but I'd rather see it go to 8 teams then see it expand to 24.

College FB is clearly trying to stay out of the NFL's lane.

I don't think it is staying out of the NFL's lane enough. Most of the general sports public have moved on from college football after Jan 1, when the NFL playoffs really start to pick up.

If FCS can run a 24 team tourney, then FBS should be able to, too.

Sure, there'd be bitching from teams 25-30, but at that point it'd be more like teams 69-78 in the NCAA tourney. Sort of fringe anyway.
