Our HS got a new head coach this year. He's always worn a visor. I was worried he was going to make us all wear them. May have been a deal breaker. Luckily he was more worried about the product on the field than his asst's head wear.

That game was one of the best I've seen in a long long time. The athleticism at WR / QB and RB - well everywhere was amazing.

That was an entertaining game that's for sure. It's way more fun to watch those when you're team isn't involved. I'd have lost my mind otherwise. Neither D could slow the other down much. The intensity was off the charts. All you can hope for in a game like that

I've gotten to that age where I see someone like him and think "shit, I'm older than him. Do I look 60 too?"

When Iowa played Mississippi State in a bowl game ~5 years back, this is what their 46 year old coach looked like then. He's my age. That one hit hard.

Watching that game, I think Iowa had a good chance at either. My reason is, when you watch it, there weren't very many times a ball carrier/receiver was tackled on the first hit. It's no wonder this conference can't win bowl games when they can't tackle. They're OL's weren't that impressive either. If you can block and tackle better than the other team, you start the game 2 TD's ahead.

I had a similar reaction watching Ole Miss' defense. My God, I can see why Kiffin isn't taking that DCoordinator to LSU. Sometimes rushing only 2 or 3 and settling into a zone with no pressure let Georgia QB Stockton shoot fish in a barrel out there. Stupid.
Altho I think we can all agree that Kirby Smart's decision to go for it on 4th and 1 from his own 30 yd line, behind only 3 pts with almost a full quarter remaining, was probably the dumbest decision in college football this season. Ended up handing OMiss 7 pts, and they lost by 3 (not counting the final play safety.) That kind of desperate move tells everyone in the stadium, including his own defense, "I have no confidence you can stop Ole Miss' offense."

Perhaps. But gray-bearded Matt Rhule wearing a camouflage cap backwards during his bowl game made him look ridiculous. I can only assume it was some desperate attempt to show potential recruits that he's 'young and hip'. Beyond embarrassing.
