Because of the competition.
Same reason the bench played the whole 2nd half yesterday against Western Michigan.

No. It was a triangular against 2 teams that are barely D1 against one of the biggest programs in the country, in a high school gym.
It's like UNI playing Ohio State in football. You don't send your starters out there to tear a shoulder or knee when your third stringers can dominate the entire thing. Happens every year.
