Neither game was pretty, but they were both Ws, have to respect that.

Jan rode on the backs of the veterans for the most part.

Our D is good, but we've got to shoot better, handle the ball better.

Still, lots of room to grow.

I almost think where this game was played was part of the shooting problem. All the teams had trouble shooting in that room. Hawks came out with 2 wins and several injuries. Glad that trip is over!

Without our second leading scorer, just getting through Miami with a W is huge. Hopefully chit chat will be back soon. This team is good.

Agree well said. That Miami game they hitched their wagons to Ava and Hannah and it was enough. Ava played amazing she has a fantastic future.
Ugly Ws are better then pretty Ls every single time the look on Jans face right after the game said it all

Too many TOs and like you said they needed someone besides McCabe to be able to shoot outside some.

Chit-Chat should be back soon so that's best case scenario for her and team. But this allowed the staff to see what Stremlow could do in extended mins. She stuffed the stat sheet despite not shooting great. 8 rebs 5 assists 2 steals and a blk with 7 pts. She had a fancy behind the back pass in transition to Heiden that was awesome. I was impressed with how she played. We just need to build off that and I hope they will

I suspect the 3 point shooting is there they just need to find their groove. Imagine how many 3s most of them have worked on over the summer, in practice, etc. I've got to believe the 3s are there.

I also suspect Stremlow needs to get more minutes. Her leadership and all-around game it just too valuable.

I further suspect Addie Deal will start earning more minutes.

Lots of suspicions, I know, but that's what makes it fun.

I think our main shooters will be McCabe Chit-Chat Stemlow and Deal. I wouldn't lean on Kylie very much she's way too inconsistent out there and as a 5th yr sr or whatever she is she isn't magically going to be much better at this point in her career. It would be really nice if Emely could help out with that some too.

I agree Deal is going to hopefully get more comfortable at just playing at this level. If she can play 15-20ish mins and contribute that'd be solid. She's a big guard and can should be able to help in other ways even if her shot is off.

Emely only playing 4 mins against Miami kinda discouraged me some. Being down a starter I woulda thought she woulda played a little more not way less. Her and Houston both didn't hardly play. Jans substituting was a bit head scratching I don't think we'll see Ava, Hannah and Kylie play all so heavy of mins all yr long. That seems like a tough ask. I think the starters all played about 30 plus mins. In the 2nd game in 3 days of a tourny like that I don't think that was the smartest thing to have done but they got the W and nobody else got hurt.

Yeah, the only bench player in that Miami game to get more than 10 minutes was Addie. It feels like Jan did what she felt she had to do to win the game.

When we had all those easy games it was great to be able to play the newbies lots of minutes. I'm sure they'll get their chances and, hopefully, they'll be ready.
