Has There Ever Been A More Epic Collapse...

This is a stupid take. For every Cignetti I can give you hundreds of names who flopped and ended up worse than what they had before.
Made me think of a country song from long ago, (prop me up against the juke box when I die.) Put a pencil in one hand and a note pad in the other, prop him up on the sideline and no one will ever know! Head Coach forever!!!!!

I like the coach Penn state has the rest of this season. Doubtful he will retain it with the results although idk how much he’s at fault there. Glad they could kick msu while their down though.
If you had told me in 2015 that nebraska, Michigan State, Penn State, and Wisconsin would all be dumpster fires at the same time I'd have said you should be locked up in a psych ward.

It also goes to show how easy it could happen to us. I'll say this, after Kurt's done it is WAY more likely we end up like that than not. I'd say it's highly probable. Aside from just Ferentz, we aren't going to have an all-world DC and special teams coach either.

Can’t disagree

Hiring after KF hangs it up will be very tedious. Do we hire someone that continues the culture and how Iowa does things? Phil will ride off in the sunset with KF. Do they have someone internally that will lead the same way as KF? Or do they bring in a new face and see what they can do? I say this over and over again that we've been very fortunate to have KF and have had a consistent program with a good culture. For those who want change, careful what you ask for.

Not quite as severe but that 2005 Iowa team. We got up to #8 after week 1 and limped into #25 at the end.

That proved to be the trend for the next 20 years. Scrape the next level with your fingertip then come crashing down.

Valid point. I've got relatives that are Badger fans, but never seemed to have too big of issues with them because it seems like they're more loyal to the Packers then the Badgers.
I think Fry pointed out a while ago, how Nebby football fans are often Creighton basketball supporters. Granted Creighton doesn't have a team so I get if they are Bugeater fans, but Nebby football fans I would think would be all in on the Mayor and his crew.
