Fickle Fickell

For the love of God pull the plug on this guy. Two games without a point was grounds for termination. Three games without a point qualifies for termination of the program. I don't care whom it's against.

On the other hand don't change a thing. This a car wreck I can't turn my head away from. Serves them right for canning Chryst and not considering Leonhard.
I say don’t encourage them. Let them keep him around for a while. :)

They have the weather to thank largely for being able to stay in that game out in Oregon. And I think the Ducks really didn't respect them coming in. I'll give Wisky a tad wee bit of credit in that I did watch some of that game and they were hitting and playing hard. It wasn't a team that'd quit anyway.

Which my biggest takeaway from it for us is that Oregon doesn't like getting hit. PSU/Indiana and now Wisky playing hard against them like they did flustered Oregon and they really didn't respond well to it.
That bodes really well for us cause I think we can push them around and wear them down.

Make sure D watches ‘Violence Tape’ each day this week.

In all honesty Wisconsin isn't a team that's going to benefit by firing a guy midseason. They don't have the pull to get a new guy who's going to fix things. They are now nebraska reincarnate. And it's also why I've never subscribed to the fire Kirk madness. If that happens we are nebraska 3.0.

Oregon's preferred way of doing things is a terrible matchup for them vs. Iowa. Add in 2 time zones, get lucky and add in some hopefully cold weather (sorry guys who are attending but we need it), and this one could be interesting. Obviously I know we're not gonna get a cold snap but I can dream.

There are a grand total of 5 players on their rooster from cold weather states. FIVE.

Tons of Hawaiians, and almost all of them are from Texas, California, Nevada, Arizona, etc. I say let it be 33* at kickoff with a stiff north wind.

I just looked and they didn't/haven't played a single cold weather game in 2023, 2024, or 2025. The game they played in Wisconsin last year was 53 degrees.

I also don't think they enjoy physical rock fight type of games. That also plays into Iowa's hands. They want to go fast and use their speed. Iowa's methodical approach on offense with TOP, and a stingy defense that makes them play underneath and in front could frustrate them.....I hope. AND hopefully Kinnick is even louder than it was for Penn State.

Exactly this season was toast. Bear Bryant couldn't have gotten them to a bowl game at any point this yr had he taken over. So you make Fickell eat all those Ls since they should be on him anyway. Cause he's not going to quit he's gotta get fired to get all his $. So just play out the yr and in their case they'll probably fire their AD along with him and do a total house cleaning.

Would love an eleven AM start. And weather reminiscent of 2008 Penn State. Will probably get neither.

Which makes it even more head scratching that they bounced Paul Chryst in mid season a few years ago. The donors must of threatened to barricade Camp Randall, close Mickey's Dairy Bar, abolish the weekly farmer's market, remove cheese curds from Culver's menus, and destroy the souvenir molding machines at the Vilas Park Zoo if an immediate change wasn't made.

I just saw a long range forecast for Iowa vs Oregon. 67degrees and sunny. I doubt it’s accuracy, but will keep an eye out.

Ha ha!

For those who dont know or aren't familiar with Madison, Mickey's Dairy Bar is Bucky's version of Iowa city's Hamburg Inn and just as good. I would rate them dead even and both have the best milkshakes. Well worth a visit especially breakfast.

As for the Mold-A-Rama machines at the Vilas Park zoo they scared the bejeezus out of me when I was four, five years old. I even think I had a nightmare of getting trapped in one. They pour hot plastic into the mold of your choice of zoo animal and after a few minutes of cooling and hardening you have yourself a souvenier.i had polar bears, elehpants, lions, my own plastic zoo on my dresser with five inch tall animals.

Years later we took our kids and now our grandkids to this same zoo. It's near campus and free of charge because the university runs it. Worth checking out when in Madison. In fact we were just there last May. The molding machines are still there.

I doubt they have the money where paying the buyout wouldn’t hurt. At the very least he’ll be there until the season ends so you don’t have to give an interim guy a raise plus replace that spot.

These southern schools with endless money are not the norm.

It’s going to be very interesting to see what kind of money we offer when we replace Kirk one day. I doubt we’ll be in the running for any up and coming coaches and have to get a bargain bin older guy.
