I got busy with yard work but I meant to come back on and say the exact same thing. This is one of the best Big Ten Network fall training camp reviews on Iowa that I have seen for many years. It really gets you excited. Thank you for pointing it out to everyone. I hope everyone enjoys it.
 


Just got done watching it and makes a fan excited for the season. There can't be many teams out there that have a group of coaches more respected than Iowa and they all seem to be really good people too.
 




The Big Ten broadcast team has been doing this for a while, but not as along as KF has been around. So, I think there is good familiarity both ways. Former players and coaches who are now commentators respect a consistent winner built on hard work and discipline. KF has really defied some gravity in keeping Iowa's program towards the top of the conference with his same old school approach in today's modern game. I can see why the Iowa stop would be a favorite for the BTN crew.
 


What is really impressive is how many players stuck around and didn’t go by the wayside following the NIL pathway.

That will make every win that more enjoyable. Team spirit, team pride, loyalty, and appreciation for the coaches who know how to get the most out of their players.

Maybe some of Fran’s players could take a lesson from this. Yeah your coach was let go but you still had a scholarship, college friends, and campus familiarity. No doubt some were planning on leaving anyway to follow the greenbacks, but a few of the players that left ended up at inferior schools in inferior conferences. I wonder if any of them are asking themselves “what the hell was I thinking?”

Why not? The schedule is tough, but that also means 10-2 might be good enough to sneak in.

If the QB can at all replicate what he did at SDSU, and that is a huge IF, Iowa will be a very tough out.

Iowa will be a a dog against ISU, PSU and USC. Probably a push at Wisky and at home against Oregon. If Iowa holds serve against everyone else, you need three of those five games. Not impossible by any stretch.

I'd expect us to be a home dog vs the Ducks, and probably at Lincoln, too. Heck, we may be a home dog vs Indiana! If we're not favored at Madison, something has gone wrong.

If we lose to Indiana there are going to be a lot of dogs barking. Indiana the perineal arm pit in the Big Ten conference beating Iowa? Say it aint so Joe. Not that we were way, way, way, better than Indiana during Hayden and Kirk's time, but damn that was one of those games we expected every year where it was a reasonable likely that was a check in the win column. Now basketball that was always a different story.

It gets pretty hard to figure dogs until you see how the season plays out. Let's say we beat the Clowns on the road. A road win against a ranked opponent is going to move us up in ranking and betting odds.

Going to chalk thereafter, we would be ranked and a slight favorite against Rutgers. Then we come home and are 4-0 and ranked against Indiana. We would be favored there. We are favored against Wisky on the road unless they get off to a hot start. Unless PSU is not what everyone thinks they are, we would be a home dog to PSU. Assuming a close loss, we are 6-1 and still ranked with one good loss. We would be favored against Minny and I think no matter what Oregon does, if we are 7-1 and reasonably ranked, we are not a home dog to Oregon. A push at best. If we win that one, we are favored in the last three games.

So, all we really need is to beat the betting odds at ISU and then the rest of the schedule can go to chalk. Simple!!

That would be sweet, for sure. If we beat the Clones and Indiana beats Illinois the week before playing Iowa, the Indiana/Iowa line will be interesting. Probably a point or two either way. If we lose in Ames and the Hoosiers beat Illinois, I think we'll be a home dog in that spot, but again, likely by no more than 1-3 points.
