Weak Big 12

You are completely right!! Georgia beating the #8 team in the Big 12 really shows how weak the Big 12 is...haha your a joke

A&M is a talented team that has the makings of being pretty solid but they played tonight like they did all year. Beat teams in every statiscal category but lose the game due to mistakes and special teams play. If you had actually watch the game you would see how Georgia has scored all their points

And from a guy who's conference hasn't had a winning bowl record in more than 5 years....I don't think I'd be talking

So if the Big 12 wins the rest of their games is it still a weak conference? And imo the Big 12 is down this year. Still better than the Big 10, but that is obvious to everyone but Big 10 fans

No chance the Big 12 wins the rest of their games. The way the Big 12 delegates teams to bowls would be the only reason they win more than they should. If the Big 12 assigned bowls like the Big 10 of SEC based on conference ranking, there would be better games, but other than Texas, the big 12 doesn't have much to offer this year.

I heard how great the Big 12 is all weekend from my Iowa State relatives. It amazes me how they boast about their conference like they have something to do with it! Georgia wasn't a great team in the SEC either. It's pretty relative. If A&M had won, we'd be hearing how great a start the Big 12 is having.

TT will beat MSU (well, until I heard their coach was suspended), Stanford will beat Oklahoma (easily), Arizona will edge past Nebraska, Alabama will roll Texas, Iowa State will beat Minnesota (well...you never know, it's ISU)

I agree that there is no chance they win the rest of their games. I was just responding to the OP. He was commenting on how weak the Big 12 was off of the 1st game of the bowl season. And if he had actually watched the game he would realize that A&M played really well for 3/4 the game but their special teams absolutely killed them. Then they were dead and Georgia rolled them.

Also nobody assigns which bowl the teams are going to in conferences. Big 12 isn't any different in that matter

No you wouldn't. It's one game. And your relatives are wrong....unless they are talking about basketball

TT never plays good in bowl games it seems but I picked them to beat MSU. Oklahoma loses EASILY to Stanford? Ummm, no. Stanford hasn't played a defense even remotely as good as Oklahoma's all season. It will be interesting to see how Gerhart does against OU. Their front 4 when healthy is the best in football....by far. Their offense leaves a lot to be desired

It is one thing to come on here and spout off about the Big 12/Big 10 record in bowl games - no argument there. The irony is that it is coming from a Cyclown fan talking to Hawkeye fans. Do a little research and you will see that ISU has done VERY LITTLE to help establish the Big 12 bowl success, and Iowa has been the one Big 10 team to play VERY WELL in bowl games.

Go back to the doll house little sister. Come out when you have something with substance to spout.

What do all these teams have in common:

OSU
Iowa
Penn State
Wisconsin

???

All Big 10 teams that would have won the Big 12 North - easily.

I am in no way a Big 12 basher like some, but this statement holds no weight. This year Texas is the only team that makes this conference relevant. No question about it. The big 10 has the potential to have 3 teams starting in the top ten beginning the 2010 season. How many teams will the Big 12 have in the top 25?

Uhh... what? Teams often jump others in the Big 10 based on a number of reasons. Iowa has benefitted from it multiple times. I don't get that statement at all.

You might want to check the rankings before saying things. It is obvious to others outside the Big Ten area that the Big 12 might not be better by the way they ranked the teams.

The Big Ten has 3 teams in the top 13 of the final BCS rankings and 4 in the top 25, the Big 12 has 1 team in the top 17 and 3 in the top 25.

Quick who was the best team that Penn St beat all year?! They only beat one team (northwestern) that had over a .500 record. Wisconsin?!

Those two teams are garbage!

Quick, who is the best team Nebraska beat? Oklahoma. Oklahoma is a 7-5 team that probably suffered more injuries than any team in the country, especially at the time Nebraska beat them. Otherwise, Nebraska beat absolutely noboby. Missouri? Not good. Kansas State? Not in a bowl. Kansas? Not in a bowl. Colorado? Not in a bowl. Baylor? Not in a bowl. The rest of Nebraska's wins came against Florida Atlantic, Arkansas State and Louisiana-Lafayette.

This is the Nebraska team that won the Big 12 North. The same team that lost at home to ISU. I think you probably remember Iowa hammering ISU AT ISU. The same Iowa team that had a battle on their hands every week in the Big 10.

You question Penn State and Wisconsin schedules? Fine. But, I am pretty sure Penn State and Wisconsin stack up quite favorably to Nebraska and their schedule.

It just kills me how these ISU and Husker fans tout the Big 12 over and over. Keep riding the coat tails of the South teams. This year Texas is for real, othewise the South had a couple decent teams in Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. It is a three team league, and two of those three teams were decent at best.

No question Iowa, OSU, Wisconsin and Penn State win Big 12 North - no question! The Big 12 needs to quit embarrassing themselves and claiming to be something special. Half of their conference is a joke. Why have two divisions when you have 1 that is varsity, and the other that is JV?

Check the schedule differences between PSU and Nebraska. Nebraska actually played a tough team in the non conference schedule. They played @ VT. Penn St's toughest game? Syracuse?

And before you go ripping on the Big 12 north understand that I agree it was down this year and not very good. But you also need to look at how the Big 12 north has done against the entire Big 10 the last 5 years. Who has the winning record?!?!

Big 12 North! 8-3 against the Big 10. The entire Big 10 has won 2 BCS bowl games in that time. Big 12 north has won 1 with 5 fewer teams!
