Slightly OT - Tell me about Manchester, Iowa

Welp, Tennessee is off. Wedding may be 86ed for the year. My buddy is in his 40's and really wants to have kids with wife #2. For the Catholics and Bible scholars on the board, would it be a sin if they had a child out of wedlock because the wedding was cancelled due to the Germ? Any guidance on that would be appreciated.

Go to the church and have the head wacko marry them in private. Then have a reception and shindig later.

That’s what everyone around here is doing.

You don’t mention how old his squeeze is but his clock is definitely ticking. He will be in his early sixties at least when a potential child graduates from high school and that is getting up there.

She's like 28 or 29, so she's got time. His ex wife fucked at least 3 guys that he knows of (while married) and thanks to the politburos from the fine state of Illinois, he has to pay her almost 200 grand of alimony per year for 7 more years. Once he and the new wife have kids, he's going to "take time off" and be a stay at home dad and coincidentally, that will sever his alimony obligations. I want to be in the room when he breaks that news. This gal is a real See U Next Tuesday if you know what I mean.

Tell him as a friend to be mindful of what those kids will go through at his age as well.

It’s statistically way more than likely that he’ll keel over in their mid twenties/early thirties. My parents died when I was 26 and 28 respectively and it was fucking devastating. I was just coming into years that should have been quality parent/child/grandchild time and that got blown to shit in an instant.

Not something that should be done to get out of paying alimony. If his calcs out to $200K per year it sucks greatly, but it also means he’s not exactly working three day jobs and bar tending at night to afford frozen pizzas for supper.
