Lunardi has us up to a #6 Seed

He has 9 big ten teams in currently with Minnesota...the 10th team...being the first team OUT and Rutgers...the 11th team...being in the next four OUT. Goes to show what people think of the Big Ten right now.

I think 10 get in. 12 of the Big 10 teams are 55 or better in the NET Rankings. Seems almost like a given to me honestly.

Wisconsin’s win at Tennessee is going to lose a ton of shine. The Vols played without their starting PG who averaged 12 points / 7 assists and is done for the year. I have no clue how Wisconsin’s NET is what it is given they have 5 losses.

Not that I don't believe 10 teams will get in, but I feel like every year we go thru this before the start of the B1G season. Right now, it's great. Lundardi has like 8 or 9 teams in or in this case, this year he has 10. It's great. But then they all start beating the shit out of each other and everyone forgets the non con and and then it's the normal 6 or 7 like every year.

Its true. seems to happen every year although last year the Big Ten got 8 teams in. Thing is the big ten teams all beat up on each other and some teams...be it injuries or whatever...just fall off.

Just out of principal I don't believe the NCAA committee would give the Big Ten (or any conference) more than 8 teams..9 at most.

^^^ I'm tired of that 7/10 line, but guess it beats the 8/9 line and a 1 seed waiting in the 2nd round..

Hope the team can notch some big wins and climb to a better seed.

But yeah, at this point, I still am not really looking very close at seed. Just way too early IMO. Mid to late February and then I'll be singing a different tune.

Win as many as possible and see where the chips fall. Fingers crossed for a strong next couple months.

I can see both sides of this one. I guess it’s possible but in order for it to happen Nebraska and NW are going to have to each win probably 4 games or less and the champion is probably going to have to have at least 6 losses. Both those things are reasonable. That way you have a bunch of teams with 9-12 wins in the league. The metrics like the conference enough at this point to make it possible.... apparently the record is 11 by the (old) Big East in 2011.

As an aside I watched some of the 1H of the MSU-ILL game last night and wasn’t overly impressed with MSU. They ask Winston to do so much in order to have success. They just don’t have that much in terms of scoring threats. They’ll win a bunch of games and maybe the league but they aren’t nearly as good as some of the other Sparty teams I’ve seen.

Yep...the 7-10 seeds are getting really frickin old. If Iowa ever dreams of making a Sweet 16 they're gonna need to improve that to at least a 6 seed. 6 vs 3 seems miles and miles better than 7 vs 2.

Rutgers could be a matchup nightmare in any postseason setting. They just need to show enough mettle in conference road games to get near that 10-10 mark.

EDIT:. Geo Baker has a thumb injury, could be season ending.
