Foster. Here's why.

If he commits it affects 3 years worth of BB games (or 4)...and it's a "win" over clone U.

If we beat Bucky it's one game. We may get a better bowl, but we're also in line to get destroyed by tOSU if we win the West. I'd prefer 9-3 over 10-3 with the last Loss an embarrassment on National TV. (another "they don't belong on the same field" game like the 2016 Rose Bowl.)

A related question might be, which do you think is more likely to happen? Foster or a win over Bucky?

IMO beating Wisconsin and setting yourself up to win the West division is far more important than any potential basketball player at the college level.

With regards to XF, lets look at the best case scenario. He's ends up being a blue chip recruit that at they same time isn't a NBA lottery type player. He's Iowa best player for a year, by year 2 he's a great B1G player, possible AA but also in Tyler Cook mode and looking to when he can get paid. And it simply time to go even if he's not a projected lottery or 1st round pick.

25 years ago blue chip basketball guys could be program changers because you could count on them for 3 years. But those days are long gone. There is no such thing as program changing basketball changers anymore. Its just great FR who don't skip college and guys who aren't good enough to go pro.

Your opinion that beating Wisconsin is more important is certainly valid.

The next two paragraphs are built around some flawed and questionable assumptions.

No-brainer for me. A road win at Wisconsin win could be program changing. Think I'm exaggerating? The Wisconsin home loss in 2010 was program changing in a negative way.

Because of the way college basketball is constructed, there is no such thing as a program changing player. Good players leave after 1 year or never go to college period.

this is the answer!!!!

Beating Wisconsin, at least to me is more important.
Why? Because I've only been to Kinnick three times in the past six years and ALL 3 WERE AGAINST WISCONSIN AND WE LOST ALL THREE F-ING GAMES!
Getting the monkey off our back...PRICELESS

Im a now guy.

That hit would also be considered a peel back block and be illegal, correct? I dont think that is what it is called but IM close.

That Yanda hit on the ISU dude would be illegal also.

Neither would be considered a peel back block. A illegal peel back block from behind and below the waste when the offensive player is moving toward his own endline.

The hit on the Baylor punter would be clearly considered an unnecessary hit above the shoulders. Contact is directly to the head with the shoulder and us a blind side block.

Yanda might be called for a blind side block because he circled back and was to the side. The hit was from the front though and squarely applied to the sternum with the shoulder. Yanda was clearly in the line of vision if the blocker had been paying attention. Just the shear violence of it might have drawn a flag though.

Iowa beating Wisconsin today would bring me sheer joy but long term I'd be happier if Xavier committed to Iowa.

I picked "sheer joy".

Can I change my vote?

Yep, and we didn't need the win against Wisconsin since we can still win the West!

So life is good for us.

I have already conclusively proven that the Wisconsin loss was a good loss as we are mathematically guaranteed a 10-3 season. With a win, we would have very likely had a 10-4 season with a loss in the Big Ten Title game and a loss in a higher tier bowl game. I'll take the higher win percentage every day.

Yeah like the others we have committed that have ZERO P5 offers...Fran is a joke show!

Why would they have P5 offers if Fran has them locked up? Unless you're a Duke, KU or UNC level program, there's no point in trying to woo guys who have Iowa offers.

Exactly. I believe we have 3 4-star players on our team right now that had no offers outside the state. Nobody else wanted to face the wrath of Fran.
