Hornibrook bailing out on Wisky.

I hope this is not because that Mertz dude or whatever his name is, is already better than him.
Physically, he almost surely is. But he's gonna need time to adjust to the college game.
As for Hornibrook, I'm a little puzzled why he chose FSU. Blackmon is young and has a much higher ceiling than him. He's not gonna start there either.

I talked to a big donor today from Wisconsin. Hornibrook did not leave due to the incoming freshman. But, the coaches talked to him about his series of concussions and told him they were in touch with 5th year transfer supposedly in the mode of Russell Wilson. My friend did not know who the new guy might be. As mentioned above, Hornibrook is going to FSU. It almost sounds like the coaches were reluctant to have Hornibrook play due to his concussions...maybe wanted him to retire.
Have you seen Mertz play? He's already better than Hornibrook. He's the future at Wisconsin, and Hornibrook saw the writing on the wall. His concussions probably have something to do with it as well.

The Wisconsin fans that I know are ecstatic that he's leaving, he was a terrible QB for them
He’s not bailing on Wisconsin. Every Wisconsin person I’ve talked to about this have said the coaches aren’t comfortable with him playing due to head injuries. And nobody was all that concerned with his absence. He’s not good.
Yeah between his head getting dinged a few times pretty good and his inconsistent play Wisky is just speeding up the moving on process. Sucks for him no doubt. Not the way anyone wants to end their careers at a place. But if Wiskys coaches and docs say that's where they are then who can blame em? Might be a cop out for them wanting to move on too but hey it's one we can't prove to be the right move or not. It'll be interesting to see how his year in Tallahassee goes

Our luck is that we will play FSU in a bowl game and he will have to make his first start and because he is playing us he will look like Joe Montana.

I wonder what star quarterbacks are in the transfer portal this time around?
Maybe Malzone (went from Michigan to Miami, OH) or Bowers from Cal?
I can't see them going after Francois. That'd be a PR disaster.

So true, 7-5 Iowa probably gets 6-6 Florida state in the pinstripe bowl and hornibrook who has struggled all year, throws for 400 yards and FSU wins 28-27

To be fair, he did about everything he could to give the 2017 game to Iowa but Wisconsin's defense was too good.
