Let me let you in on a secret. This is a pretty typical "good" Iowa team. The back 7 is a little weaker and the QB hasn't pulled any miracles. The team has just had crap luck and not executed at the end of games. Iowa's luck comes in spurts and we gotta hope it all rolls in next year.

Yeah. If you look at it objectively, this team is deceptively close to being undefeated. Again, when Iowa has a really good record, a big reason is luck and a few clutch plays. When we have a bad record, it's usually the same. When we turn over LBs, we always piss away games late like we have done this year. It sucks, but it has been that way for like 15 years. Not sure what y'all are expecting.

Not executing at the end of games is now a lingering theme that continues year to year.
 






Just for the record I picked 6-6 and 95% of you dorks said I was out of my mind.

And now we’re going to be 6-6.

Iowa almost always regresses to the mean when we turn over a good LB corps because we can't win close games down the stretch. Even when we have a great QB, like Tate in 2005 or Stanzi in 2010, if we turn over good LBs, we usually suck. I was hoping this year might be different because y'all had me convinced the offense was gonna be better. Statistically it is better at pasting the patsies which will make it look better in national rankings, but it is pretty dismal against better teams and in the fourth quarter.

I predicted 7-5. Looks like it will be 6-6, so I will be off by one.

I think the team will quit from here on out, which is sad.

Nice to see you back, Clown Fan. You threw quite the tantrum when this "lucky" team beat your ass. Why are you yelling? It isn't going to take the pain of losing away.
 


Take away Kirk's scheduled wins, take conference record, bowl record, and record against Iowa State and that's the real Kirk. Does anyone have that stat?
