Urban Meyer knew about 2015 domestic violence

So, would anyone be surprised if he survived this? I’m not at all saying he will or won’t. But... if Dantonio can still be a coach on the sidelines, I don’t see why anyone thinks this is a slam dunk.

To be clear though, I think Meyer and Dantonio should both be shitcanned. Immediately. And I think both are equally probably self centered, narcissistic, arrogant jack asses who know right from wrong and make a deliberate choice to look the other way.

Not sure Urb didn't anything legally wrong. Morally and ethically probably, but legally not so sure. Therefore he can come out later with an apology and, by October, it'll all be smoothed over.

Yes, I would be surprised. Dantonio and Izzo are different issues. MSU's BB program is facing a law suit and MSU has shown they aren't going to capitulate.

The suspension w pay is a result of this:

Having to do with O'Brien.

Ohio State pay''s for Urban's cell phone, they will be going over all texts to see if they can find anything he sent and received. If OSU officials find just one text from his wife to Urban involving this situation, busted!

I think OSU just showed they want him gone. Putting him on leave is step one to put him on the sidelines till their lawyers can sort out how to fire him the 'right way' It's just a matter of getting their ducks in a row. If they can fire him 'with cause' (and violating a title 9 law should surely fall into that category) the school should be able to get out of paying him I believe the 38 million he's got coming to him.

True but that's just the one he uses for recruiting and 'official business' All those guys are smart enough to have another one they pay for themselves on the down low if they are doing anything shady. Unless he's even dumber than he looks..

He is most likely a Title IX mandatory reporter. This would definitely violate that.

Yes, but maybe his wife sent him text on that work phone not even really thinking,, that is something Urban would have no control over (you never know) I dont' see how OSU could bring him back, this is an ugly story, much worse than the Tressell one and he was fired.

ESPN'S Reece Davis thinks Urban is history at OSU. Haven't heard one work from Kirk Herbstreit, probably at home shedding his Buckeye tears over this

"But I lost my cell phone. I think I dropped it under a pile driver the other day."

Isn't this essentially the route Louisville took with Pitino?

I would hope that he's smart enough to use What'sApp or KakaoTalk or something where you can just delete the app and there is no residual data. Even deleted texts sent through the apple program on an iPhone can be recovered - my buddy's wife was cheating on him and she deleted all of her texts everyday. Turns out, there is a program you can buy for like $80 that is similar to the one the FBI uses that can pull deleted texts from meta data stored in the phone, but those chat programs do not leave a similar trail inside the phone. Let's see if Urban is smarter than Hugh Freeze and my buddy's wife.

The Tressell comparison is pretty crazy, huh? One guys was in charge, and potentially looked the other way, when some young men on his team traded their (very valuable) autographs for tattoos. He got fired.

Another looks to have tried to cover up an assistant coach's long and violent history of abuse (starting back in 2009 at FL), rehired this guy at OSU knowing what went down in FL, coerced the victim into not pressing charges (several Meyer confidants arranged meetings with the victim in FL following the 2009 assault), and basically just tried to sweep this whole thing under the rug in any way possible. End result? TBD

Lol there is also a program that one can buy that will encrypt all of that data.

IF 30,000 emails can disappear and the Attorney General can meet up on a tarmac with a former President-whose wife also happens to be a candidate for the same office--and the current president tells one candidate "meddling has never happened, stop whining". AND, the current President happens to be investigating the same candidate. AND he has influence with those still in the new Administration. AND...the new President gets all the flak...then text messages can be "lost" faster than you can say, "Hey, Urban and O$U did The Wave!"...

...THEN, no, Urban isn't "busted", at least not yet. McMurphy's hard-on may be the only thing that pushes this past "General CYA Mode In Effect" at O$U. IF any other media outlets jump on it (ESPN, Fox Sports, or even BTN), THEN yes, there is a chance Meyer doesn't survive this. But I sure wouldn't bet big on his firing at this point. I just wouldn't consider his surviving a slam dunk, either.

What Urban and the gang at O$U need is a flood, hurricane, tornado or other catastrophe to get this out of the news. What the "other" side needs is someone besides McMurphy to step up, ask questions, make noise, etc.

Get out the Redenbacher and a 12-pack, this is gonna be REAL interesting.
