X Foster...USC



If Fran & his team don't make some serious positive waves soon, I highly doubt Foster ends up in IC.

yeah, i don't know. XF comes across as this just really super laid back kid that doesn't even see the bright lights. what i read after he got the offer from SC was something to the effect that "yeah, i'm still an iowa fan, i know their guys and i hoop with them sometimes..." kind of thing. what i would really, really love to see is XF, DJ and TL play in the PTL. I don't even know if that is possible. but if it is, i'd love to see it. Particularly XF and TL because i'd like to see them against much higher competition than what their current AAU seems to be providing. DJ is going to play the best AAU comp so.

But, it's probably a violation for HS kids to play in PTL. You know, the NCAA that cares so much about amateur status and fairness.

I thought Green from Cedar Falls played in the PTL last year.
 




Why is it, EVERY time there is any sort of positive news about Iowa basketball, tk non-sirius has to poop on it and go all skeptical?? I'm a pessimist but C'MON!?!?
 


Andy Enfield is still in the process of recreating Dunk City on the west coast and occasionally getting under Alford's skin. He had a nice tourney run what seems like eons ago at Florida Gulf Coast. He's stocking athletes but disappointed last year when his bubble burst. Foster could be lost in a shuffle of midsized athletes if he enrolls there but he would always have the beaches and palm trees and suntanned co-eds.

High schoolers can play in the PTL but have to be within a certain area of the state. Think all three of those guys are outside that area.
 


To me the key to getting Foster is DJ... Not so sure we get Foster if DJ goes somewhere else... Patrick I think is trying his butt off to help recruit all these guys and it'd be a heck of a core group of guys to have. Hope the dominos fall into place for a change.

I agree. I have a feeling Foster is looking to expand his horizons or play for a bigger named school but if we had Joe, DJ and Patrick, maybe we could convince him to stay in state.
 
















Has any coach had a more mediocre career yet done nothing but climb the ladder? I mean Iowa to NM was a step sideways at best when he did it to get out of dodge before being kicked out but to go from there to UCLA... And he's been there awhile now and predictably underachieved yet still hangs on.. He's like the cockroach of college hoops that won't go away.

He was a great player under The General. He seems to have it all together, has nice hair. Guess that buys you some extra time in this world.
