Kirk (or is that Brian?) with his Clydesdale; Valerian steel sword and Hawk.

KF may have a winning record against Michigan, but Iowa does not play Michigan this year.

I think this would be a good season, this season. Can't overstate no experience at qb and wr. JB and MQ are new additions that could be x-factors, if used dynamically. If they're just cogs in the wheel, 6-6 would be good.

I can't ever look at 6 wins as good, even in a low expectations season. But i get what you're saying. Anything less than 7 would be disappointing, but oddly only 1 additional win to 8 I would consider pretty good. Need 9+ for me to consider it a solid good year. Unlike most of the last 18 years, I think the first 2 games are gonna give us fans a lot of answers on the type of team the Hawks will be. But lots of questions currently...

I think we're all "guessing" because there is no way for anyone to really know, based on historical evidence, how well our offense will score. There is (practically) no evidence on our qb's, wr's or OC. There we know what AW can do, but we don't know what he'll be able to do with this seasons passing attack; which again, we have no real idea what it will be like. JB has a history in a MAC level conference. Can he adjust to the speed of the B1G? So, I have my opinions and others have theirs. I think for 8 wins, this season, with our schedule, boy, we'd have to score 30+ a game. I just don't see it. I would happily be wrong about it; we'll see soon enough.

Unfortunately, the ISU game can be absolute fool's gold (see 2016). The Wyoming game could be the same, as we don't really know how good a team like that is, comparatively speaking, until the season is almost finished. We could go undefeated in non-con and then have a 2006-type season. This is one of those years where losing the PSU/O$U/Wisconsin games, yet finishing 9-3, could leave us wondering how good we are all the way until we win or lose our bowl game. Or we could go 7-5, all losses by 5 points or less, then smoke our bowl opponent and wonder what might have been.

Im getting hyped about that RB duo.
If we can run the ball and stop the run, I see 9-3.

But if we do stupid stuff, I can see 6-6.

Wouldnt this be a great year to go 12-0, though?

We are overdue for an O$U win, so . . .

I started setting the trap several months ago and now it is complete.

Elite QB
Elite RBs
Elite TEs
Competent WRs
Elite O-line

Excellent special teams

Usual stout DEFENSE

All the morons (like InBadCo) who said Iowa shouldn't expect to compete for the west have been exposed as Hawkeye haters who delight in making excuses for under-perfomance.

We will know more about Iowa after the Penn State game. Before the year I thought it would be a blow out. Now I think it's going to be a tough game that Iowa loses.

Oh and for idiots like InGoodCo who think I hate Stanley . . . that was a trap to get everyone to compliment him so I could take away one more of the brown-shirt's excuses for Iowa to faint against an inferior team.

Kirk has the horses, and he needs to do something with them.
