No

Your only argument should be he shouldn't be a point guard because he can't drive. My rebuttal is a guy who keeps getting 20 and 10 doesn't have to drive. Our offense runs great with him at point.

He also struggles shaking off the opposing teams PG to get the ball, getting the ball down the court when being pressed and/or double teamed.

I can flip the argument the other way around, everything that JB does well can just as easily be done from the 2 as well.

If Jordan can "struggle" the way he did to finish this season all the time over the next 3 years, Iowa will be in good shape.

So you would trade off his passing and his overall ability to run an offense for someone who can shake his defender better?

That's a bad mindset to have. Hopefully Fran and his staff are constantly looking for ways to improve this team. You never want to settle you are always looking to get better.
 




I could get on board with wanting a different skill set at point if we had Woody in the post. But we have a guy who led the conference if field goal perentage and a guy who made his last 18 shots on the year. Our best offense is getting them the ball and going from there. The best way to do that is have our best passer have the ball in his hands as much as possible. Even if it means sometimes we lose 5 seconds on the shot clock because the defender is being overly aggressive on that possession.
 


I can't believe how bad Jbo is getting beat up on here. We just watched our best freshman PG since probably Jeff Horner. Dude would take Senior Mike G any day of the week.
Sure he needs work. He will get there.
People are acting like we have little Lick running the Point.
 




And someone should never say "you're not going to change my mind". That means you aren't even willing to listen to a valid arguement.

But imagine if there were 2. In Frans offense the PG job is to bring the ball down and setting up the offense, after that it's all motion. If Fran was to bring in another PG Bohannon would still get the ball a lot, just like Jok did in the 2 spot. The difference is you would actually have someone who is capable of handling the ball at the 2 spot. We've seen a little bit of this when CW was on the court at the same time as Bohannon.

We all agree we need another really good guard obviously. You would just rather have a Yogi Ferrell type player and play two 6'guys. I would rather have a Marble type shooting guard that could help Bohannon when he needs it. Either is fine I suppose.

Or it could mean it's beating a dead horse and it's getting tiring. Sometimes it is best to agree to disagree.

Also it's March. We are not going to get the next Yogi Ferril for next year. The "Elite" point guards are committed.

Jordan is our man next year, and probably the next 3..

The record is mostly due to a horrendous start. 3-5 is tough to come back from.

Yeah, great season if you have the prospective to look at what Iowa lost last season - and Jordan did it despite that.
 


3 straight games posting double doubles to end the season - 1st Hawkeye to EVER do that with pts and assists, 1st Hawkeye to have 3 straight double doubles since 2005 (Greg Brunner) -

Hawkeye fans "WE NEED A DYNAMIC PG STAT!"
