Projected 2017-18 Big 10 Standings

Illinois has a real good recruiting class coming in. I can't see them finishing that low even with Groce.

MSU
Minnesota
Indiana (if Crean stays)
Maryland
Iowa
Nebraska/Michigan
Purdue
NW/PSU
Wisconsin
OSU
Illinois
Rutgers

Iowa won't be ready just yet. Adding Weiskamp the following year and another year of experience with the returning guys will make them a contender. Nebraska, PSU, NW, Maryland all have young talented teams just as Iowa does. Definitely going to be a tough league yet again.

We showed how to defend Happ? Now that's funny.

I'd bet the house they finish in the top half of the league. They play strong D and have a great home court advantage at the Kohl Center.
So you are suggesting my post is ridiculous (concerning Wisconsin) and then putting them a whole 3 spots higher in the standings. Now that's funny!

1 - It's a projection. 2 - You didn't make a projection. How do you think all 14 teams will finish. 3 - I think I will have at least 13 out of 14 right if I'm allowed a 7 position range as you have stated for Wisconsin...between 1st and 7th.

I was suggesting your statement that Iowa showed how to stop Happ was ridiculous, when that book was written about a month ago.

Also, the difference between bottom 3 in the league and top 7 is huge. I don't care to predict right now as there is way too much to sort out with players leaving and new coaches etc.

Sigh.

People say "this is the year Wisconsin takes a step back!" every single year. They said it in football after Alvarez. They said it after Bielema. They said it after Gary Andersen.

Gard was with Bo every single year. People are acting like Wisconsin is 1-17. Finished 2nd in the league even after playing lousy.

The way Hayes has played the past 2 years it's not as if he can't be replaced. Great staff, great AD, great campus. Wisconsin also has its highest ranked recruiting class coming in. Wisconsin isn't going anywhere no matter how badly you want it to be true.

I see Iowa going 9-9 or 10-8. I don't see how they improve on this season.
So what you are saying is that the freshman that played all season and the addition of two 6'11 4 star post players on a very competitive team won't be any better? Are you a tool? Going to the NIT will help the young players become much better in a one and done situation. I see a huge gain next year. Top 3 without question.

Iowa should be loaded next year with the experience they have gained this year. Moss and Williams are probably a pretty big factor for the team next year for outside defense. They will score their points, but the team will need some guard defensive stoppers. With what Iowa has coming back and the two six ft eleven guys coming in they should be fine in the paint. Wisconsin is going to miss Koenig. I think they lose four or five seniors, so the Ryan coaching influence will be even less next year. I think the Iowa team will be fun to watch next year, and there should be a lot of fans at the prime time league.

Top 3? Maybe top 3 out of teams from Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois.
