AJ DERBY....

Hopefully the coaches can sit Drew Cook down this off season, and point to him and tell him that he could have a much easier route to the pros if he just moves to TE now.

My thoughts exactly. I said the same thing last night when I was watching the game. This should help Iowa's case in the future to keep these athletes and get them in the right position. This staff has had a lot of success with position changes to the TE and OL.

The only way that this can happen is if Wiegers stays in the program after losing out to a true freshman. If Wiegers leaves, then we need a back up that at least knows the system.

AJ Derby as a TE, in the NFL. Imagine that. I think the coaching staff at Iowa did, unfortunately, at that time, he didn't.

First thing I thought of was Cook last night too seeing Derby out there. I wonder if Cook might even move during bowl prep. They often use this time to move guys. Here's what I could see happen. (not that it will) Cook should move to TE and if for some reason Wiegers leaves then have Boyle can go back to QB. It sure doesn't look like he'll be much of a WR if he couldn't crack the lineup with how this season has gone... I think the program would be in better shape with Cook moving to TE rather then Boyle at WR is my thoughts on it.

Wasn't he working out with the linebackers at Iowa before he left to be a QB? He'd have been a monster rush LB or DE

He would make a very fast TE. Would be interesting but not sure if he's big enough
