New Scoreboard

I expected Fran to raise the bar when we hired him but that's a lot of bars. :D

There are some new pics up. Looks like the other scoreboards aren't too shabby.

So many cyfans are pushing ISU as a basketball school I'm surprised Pollard hasn't pumped some money into Hilton like he did with the football stadium. Maybe he thinks the fans will come no matter what.

Can't wait to see the new video board! Does anybody know what the floor is going to look like? I'm thinking it'll probably remain the same only new. As far as the clown pit I've heard they are a football school now and basketball is only a sideshow.

And he would be right. One thing we can't make fun of Cyfans about is their basketball attendance.

I was really disappointed in how they added all those new screens to Kinnick only to fill them up with advertisements instead of stats and replays. I hope that isn't the case with these.

This twitter account has images of the floor https://twitter.com/wjschultz60/media

Aside from the Mediacom logo being black and the Tiger Hawk logo being outlined in gold at midcourt I don't see any major changes. Which is fine, we already had a cool design. I think ESPN ranked us top 10 court design this year even.

So, what exactly was the reason for building a new floor?

Courts still wear out, it's not as though the sole purpose of doing so is for a new design - that's just an opportune time to do so.
I'm not sure about NCAA but the NBA requires new floors at least every 10 years.

Ok. That's what I was figuring. A little odd that they were sort of hyping it when it's just going to be the same thing.

I think they had to remove it anyway to do the scoreboard updates, so might as well do a new court at the same time.
