Okay guys,
First off, this is football so chill. Some of you seem to have way too much invested in this team the way you are acting. If you are a Hawk fan and haven't learned that 8 win seasons with a 10 win season scattered in every 5-10 years is Iowa's ceiling, then I don't know what to tell you. Iowa is not a program that will ever be able to recruit the blue chippers like Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, and fill in the blank. Now, I have been an Iowa fan since birth and it sucks when they lose, but its not the end of the freaking world! Its nice however, knowing that every year there is a great chance for Iowa to make it to a bowl game which is awesome! Look at the Clones, we have it way better now then they ever will.
Secondly, quit with this CJB/JR stuff. Just watch the game and enjoy it. IMO if CJB gets tossed into that game it probably wouldn't have turned out any different. He didn't look that great last week when he was in, apart from the 20 yard QB draw. I agree though, it would have been nice to at least see CJB get a series or two to switch it up and see if anything could change to pace of the game. The O-line today was not up to par to say the least, which didn't help out JR any. The funny thing is, if it were CJB in there the whole time people would be calling for JR's number. Also, any of you wishing for JR to get hurt today...wow, you are pathetic.

Anyways, go ahead and hit the thumbs down over here------------------------------------------------->

Dude...you are the reason KF has a contract until the end of the century. Your way of the thinking suffocates the program.

Really, when KF is gone and we go 2-10 you still won't be happy. This is the ceiling of this program, refer to the past century.

Maryland has a little more team talent, and a lot more team speed. The Iowa players from Maryland are kids who couldn't get offers from the Terrapins or Penn State. Iowa went on the road for an early start and lost by seven points.

Ferentz didn't drop the punt, throw the pick six, grab two facemasks on the same drive, mess up a fumble call.....

No, but he kept a struggling QB in the game instead of putting in another kid that has shown to provide a spark in situations JUST LIKE TODAY.

Okay Tom Davis. There are plenty of other teams that have changed coaches in the past decade that are doing just fine thank you very much. Your reasoning is silly, but you already knew that when you posted it.

This doesn't even make sense. How many bowl games has Maryland been to and won since 1980? Not really a football powerhouse. But I guess now, since we are just little old Iowa, we should start comparing ourselves to the likes of Maryland, Northern Iowa, Ball St. and Iowa St. right?!?!?

Iowa has the facilities and the money to hire a quality coach that possible could be better then Ferentz. Don't forget how much money the football team brings in.

I honestly think a change in the direction of the program will be a good thing. Things haven't exactly been stellar the last few seasons. Even Hayden slipped a but down the stretch.

I love Ferentz for what he did post-Hayden but I do not think he is the high water mark for Iowa football. We've been very average since 2008 to be honest.

Definitely not trying to troll, just trying to be realistic lol

"About the CJ/JR thing, just be quiet and enjoy the game"

yeah, real realistic. There isn't an Iowa media member (you know, those PAID to cover sports) who isn't saying something about it.. Yes, you're a troll. I'll prance around here in my birthday suit as soon as someone bans you for life.

Yeah, what teams? Look at Michigan! They decided to get rid of Carr (huge mistake) and the program went to hell, and they are able to rake in top recruits year in and year out! They still haven't come back from that.

I agree that we could bring in a quality coach, but that doesn't guarantee success. Look at B-ball, brought in Lackluster after Butler's success and that didn't turn out so well...

And at the time he was hired, most believed he was a "quality" coach

The problem there was that Brad Stevens didn't come with Lickliter. He was his main recruiter and turned out to be a pretty darn good coach.

Barta didn't do his homework when he was interviewing Lickliter. It was pretty clear without Stevens he wasn't a very good coach or recruiter.

That's my point, bringing in a successful coach doesn't mean that success will translate to a new program. Rich Rod goes to Michigan and craps the bed, then goes to Arizona and just beat Oregon a couple weeks ago and Arizona is on the rise. You just never know. I just think that at Iowa, a few seasons of decent bowl games with a BCS bowl every now and then is about as good as it can get. Not saying Iowa will never win a National Championship, but the odds aren't exactly in our favor.

I do agree a name doesn't guarantee anything. Rich Rod was very good at West Virgina and didn't fit it at Michigan.

Bielema is struggling at Arkansas too.

Thumbs down button looks awfully tempting... Must.... Not.... Give in.... To... Trolls...

If you had one to give HOCKS this is the one..
