Im not going to lie after sitting in the sun for 3 quarters I was thinking I could go back and drink in the shade Ive seen how this plays out. However I dont ever leave games early no matter the score so I stuck it out.

These first two game may not be what everyone was hoping it would look like but the Hawks are 2-0.

Years past these games go down as losses. UNI and Ball State were a lot better than past losses to CMU, WMU, and back to back goofer teams.

If you look at MSU last year they were awful at the beginning of the season they barely beat Western Michigan with their 3rd string QB. They did win a couple ugly ones and in the end things worked out pretty good.

I usually get on Kirk for loosing to bad teams and this year he hasnt done that so I aint even mad bros.

Im calling that Kirk smacks around the clowns to the tune of 31-7.

Heck no, man...I love sitting in traffic listening to the post game show on the radio. And, I can work up a thirst so when I arrive at Ugly's Saloon I can down a couple of pints of Amber Boch after which I will walk over to Pagliai's for a great pizza. That is my tradition and I am sticking to it!

Nope not even in a blowout. I tailgate for usually 2 hrs after the games so Im not fighting traffic anyway.

I'll buy what your selling OOTH. I started to take the side that ball at state actually is a good MAC team and it's good Iowa pulled it off.

I think they are a good mac team. I dont think Iowa should let it be that close but at the end of the day they get the teachings of a loss with a win on the books.

Oh, and for the record, as difficult as it is for so many to understand, I ain't mad either. On this particular day, I was just bored and detached and not entertained and crowded and thirsty for beer. I decided I'd seen enough of this game and decided I'd have a lot more fun going and getting some.

No biggie. It isn't like I'm foresaking my God and my country. I just left a bad football game in which the team I came to root for was devoid of competence and competitiveness.

We have seen in these two games sparks of a better team. Iowa looked a little better against Ball State but they are, like many teams at this time of year under Kirk a work in progress. One thing is for sure if they don't get some sort of consistency going by next week it's going to be a rough road trip. Pitt is better than UNI, Ball State and Iowa State.

Contrary to how they played against Kansas State, the Clowns are pathetic. Giving up nearly 500 yards a game with nearly 300 on the ground. They are coming up against an Iowa team that has held opponents to just over 300 total yards a game and under 60 on the ground. Should be a blowout.

The biggest reason not to be mad at this point is because they are still undefeated. There was no give up in either game. When the chips were down, the team rose to the occasion. Winning teams don't always win big. Winning teams don't always look pretty. Winning teams just win.

hayden got obliterated plenty in the early to mid nineties - sellouts weren't the course of the day, and early exits were part and parcel.....usually folks stuck around for the big wins - and that was when he'd typically unleash 'the exotics'...
