Starting at noon on ESPN 2

OSU @ Purdue
Indiana @ Ill

BTN @ 4
Mich St @ penn st

Not great matchups but road tests for the buckeyes and sparty

My picks are Illinois, Michigan State, Iowa and Purdue in the upset...primarily because I feel compelled to pick an upset for fun. I think Iowa is the safest pick of the 4 games. I decided to consult a less biased source to confirm my belief...Vegas.

Iowa -15
Ohio State -7
Michigan State -5.5 (opened at -8)
Illinois -3.5 (opened at -2)

Penn State and Illinois are getting some play in Vegas.

Other games which indirectly impact us...RPI and the like.

Xavier (-4) hosting St. Johns
Iowa State (-24) hosting N. Illinois
Villanova (-3) playing at Butler

I think the IU @ UofI game is the most interesting. I will take IU and the +3.5. Illinois will be a roller coaster this year.

Couldn't believe the Penn St line. I think they have good guards and will be tough at home, but 5.5? That is some love for PSU.

I would lay the 5.5 on Sparty. I was also shocked when I saw that line.

Buckeyes up 2 on Purdue with 3:30 left in first half.

Wow... Some tough calls going against Purdue. I have no idea how that wasn't a charge. Dude was standing there for a full second prior to the contact.

Looks like tOSU will barely cover. Didn't look like they would for most of the game.

I strongly suspect that now that the conference games have begun, the new rules as called all year so far, will be thrown out the window and the usual chaos will prevail.

Hey everyone how are those new rules working out? If the OSU/Purdue game is an indication...well, same officials, same ole stuff.

Where is r rice from? Did we recruit him? From drake to illinois. I've seen him playa couple times kid has some skill

I've decided to hate OSU this season. I had them as my pre-season B1G favorite back in May, so, to me, they've been the team to beat (and dislike). Then, the completely outrageous comeback against Domer in that tourney last week, with some favorable whistles / non-whistles, (don't care if it was Domer vs B1G, I wanted OSU to get beat) just sealed it for me.

I know Hawks will get the shaft in C-Bus but hope Iowa just kicks their *** on Super Tuesday, Feb 4.

He's from Illinois. I saw him play at Drake several times. I posted a few different times since last spring that he would be one of the top 2 or 3 players for Illinois this year. He has a Big 10 body and style of play...IMO.

Similar game to one of my fav hawks Andre Woolridge. When I watch him play for illinois, I feel like they could utilize his skill set a little more at times.
