LT - Scherff
LG - Ward
C - Blythe
RG - Ward
RT - Donnal

That would be my guess. I'll say now that Ward is Iowa's next great OT.

Does that mean the hawks will rush for something more than 6th best in the conference?

I'm with you, I'd rather rush for 300 yards a game, be tops in the league in rushing, and go 7-5, then be balanced and go 10-2. How good can your offensive line be if you are only 6th in the conference in rushing? Hmmm...they also only gave up 12 sacks in 12 games. So I'd say they were pretty good. I guarantee you if Carlos Hyde or Tre Mason were running behind our line this year, we'd be in the top three. I'm not trying to slight our RB's, but every team ahead of us also had much better backs...just calling it like I see it. So watch where you are pointing that finger.

cute.

BTW, It's not an "either / or" question.

I will go with

LT SCherff
LG Simmons
C Blythe
RG Walsh
RT Donnal

Ward will be the 6th OL or possibly rotate in at one of OG positions.

My guess:

Scherff
Walsh
Blythe
Donnal
Ward

I think Ward is a certified tackle, and Donnal is very versatile. Simmons and the rest will be in the mix. Should be a solid line next year.

We definitely have some options next year with Scherff back. I feel for Ward as I think Donnal's natural position is tackle, right tackle. I also heard Simmons is pushing for time...someone is the odd man out as Walsh seems to have cemented himself in the rotation. I like the idea of rotating three guards as it gets people game reps as long as there is no drop in production. You also have Keppy and a few others in the mix or who should be closer to being ready. All the sudden we have depth on the DL also...with Davis, LTP, Ott, Hardy, Cooper, Jaleel, Faith, and a host of other DE's that have to either step up or get passed by. McMinn, Spears, etc. Those guys are at "now or never stage". It's good to have competition.

My money is on ward at tackle over Donnal. Donnal will most likely end up at rt when scherff is gone as ward plays rt next year and moves to lt the following year. Ward seems to be of a similar style as scherff with a mean streak. Simmons and Gaul will be the 6th and 7th linemen. My guess is ward will be the next 1st rounder after scherff.
