Though the rankings are higher for both teams compared to Ken-Pom (13th and 21st, respectively) 2014 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings the spread between them is about the same.

2 big variables:
Sagarin has Iowa's s.o.s. much better than ISU's
Ken-Pom has ISU ranked top 10 in adj-tempo.

ISU has played 1 away game and 1 game on a semi-neutral court. While Hilton gives ISU a huge advantage, Iowa is a more seasoned team. While both like to run, tempo seems to favor ISU.

Not to overlook the mighty Knights of Farleigh-Dickinson (who have beaten Seton Hall and Rutgers) but this should be an insanely entertaining game, played in the 80's. Would not be shocked if comes down to last possession or even OT.

Can't wait!

Using sagarin's predictor formula he has ISU beating Iowa by 2 based on the home court advantage (4 pts).

This is the biggest Iowa/ISU game in quite some time. To bad it is not on regular ESPN instead of ESPNU. I know not to many people care about this game outside the state but it is 2 ranked teams going at it. But at least I will not have to go to a sports bar to watch it since I do not have mediacom.

Since all rating systems are pretty meaningless I'm calling us the number 1 team in the country.

It's just my opinion but I don't think Iowa is ranked high enough and ISU is ranked way to high. By the way, I'm not a homer. lol.

That may be true but the fact remains that they are 3-8 with losses to Norfolk State, St. Peter's, Metro State(huh?) and Hartford. They also have a 50 point loss to Arizona, the only good team they have played so far. It really shouldn't be close.
