Pretty good read. Sounds like Dau could end up doing big things in and for Sudan.


great story. but sad story. when you think you have it tough........read a story like the above, or imagine the following:

i have a neighbor lady across the street who at 16 years of age was taken from her family in Poland and 'enslaved' as a servant in Germany. never saw her family again. did that 'servitude' for the Germans (around 1944) for 4-6 years or so, and then was sponsored by a family in the quad cities and ended up living and having a family there. she is 85 now, and still going strong.
 




The whole Jok story just fascinates me. The vague ties to Manute Bol and Luol Deng. The fact that the family obviously comes from the highest level of Sudanese government and could play a significant role there moving forward. I have a feeling that Peter Jok is going to loom very large over this program in the decades to come...for basketball as well as for what he does afterward.
