Defensive back - #7

Well to be fair there is also #7 Drew Zaun a walk on WR. He is a transfer from UNI. To the best of my knowledge though he has not played DB at all for Iowa. So I am going with Draper. It did not look like he was 100% on Saturday.

The 2 things disturbing about Draper, and he has looked better than he did Saturday, is this. Key 3rd and long all he has to do is push the guy out of bounds instead he does some half $%^ head tackle guy eludes him for 15 yds should have been Hawkeye ball with decent field position after a punt. A few plays later Cook hits Kings on a crossing pattern Draper looks lost lets him catch the ball then at about the 12 yd line has a chance to make a tackle to keep it out of th end zone and patsy ARSES it. Disturbing...young man needs to be coached up a bit this week after film review. If you know what I mean!

Weak corner play makes keeping the safeties back paramount. Too many 10+ yard passes. They need to cut the blitzes way back. We need more Norm Parker out there this year. And if you must safty blitz, at least get Nico Law in there who might actually do some damage and get to the QB.

Seriously?! Now you're saying more base 4-3 with easy pick apart options so NW, Wisc and OSU can continue to take advantage of us?! Parker needs to teach them some crafty D like MSU did to us last week mask the blitzes that are coming.

Hopefully Lomax will be back for OSU and then He'll be the third CB instead of draper.

Good point. And just for the record...I think Draper is going to be good he's just not there yet. Those mistakes he made against MSU were crippling though and we just don't have the horses to allow the opposition to make 3-4 big easy deep plays per game.
