Board Observation- Maybe Jon Can Help?

It seems like board activity is down after the last 2 victories in comparison to after the NIU loss and the close call against Mizzou State.

Why would that be? Did all the KF haters go away or are people not excited about the way the team is playing?

It's just like the news my man. People tune in when there's a train crash, and tune out when everything is rainbows and butterflies. The board is a place for people to vent their frustrations because they feel like their opinion is being heard even if it means absolutely nothing. There's a lot more frustrations to be shared after a loss than there is after a win.

What exactly are you asking Jon to help you with?

I have not noticed any decrease in activity. A win over Minnesota doesn't make me back of my call for Ferentz to move on after this season. Wins put a shiny coat of paint on the flaws but there are still serious flaws on this team that were evident on Saturday.

Are you even open to the possibility that these "flaws" could be improved upon and if so will change your stance on KF? And what flaws would you like addressed that you saw on Saturday? Just out of curiosity.

As Owner/Publisher/Founder of this website Jon has access to numbers that would help prove whether my observation is true or not.

He could compare number of posts, page views, etc after the NIU loss and Mizzou State win with the number of posts, page views, etc after in the last couple weeks.

Dean aint. Hopefully there is another prediction thread fail again this week from Mr. Vogs.

Using my sig as evidence, 1977 is probably pizzed off at the outcome of the game in MPLS also.

I would have failed again. I thought Minny would score more.

This is a weird post. Not even wins will be enough. Outside of actually winning what else would you like? Every single team has flaws. Iowa is not the '85 Bears. Some of the flaws this team has seem to be getting better. That pass rush isn't great, but it seems to be getting better. The receivers are not great, but seem to be improving. The secondary isn't great, but they don't seem elect to simply not even cover guys anymore. Penalties were practically non existent on Saturday. Are there some flaws that I am missing? Not enough community service? The TEs grades are a little lower than past years?

I think the majority of "Kirk Lovers" and "Kirk Haters" thought that we would be either 5-0 or 4-1.
Most people, like me, are cautiously optimistic.

The OL, QB, DL has been better. DB, SS and TE have been disappointing.
Why aren't we using CJ?

Greg Davis has seemed to make the right calls the last 2 games. Going play-action with the defense is stuffing the box, etc., going screen when the defense is stuffing the box.

$3.7 million/year should buy you an average of a minimum of 4-4, and 8-4 overall.
Since the beginning of the 2006 season, as a double-digit favorite, Iowa has lost more games than any other team.

Pretty sure you already know the answer to your question as he has answered it more than once.

You are obviously trying to get somewhere with this thread so it may be easier for everyone if you just get to it.

Give it time. I would guess most everyone had Iowa at 4-1 at this point. If the board is indeed quiet like you say it won't last for long. The meat and potato's portion of the Schedule is fast approaching. Right now I envision it goes 1 of 2 ways from here. 1- Iowa is going to have a great season (9-10 Wins) and way over-achieve or 2. It ends like a lot of people projected ugly, but with that ugly we must get win #6..

Anyway hold on HN because the fun really is about to start. I predicted the wheels to fall off and I really hope I'm wrong and the Hawks Surprise. That would be AWESOME. Go Hawks!

So what are your complaints about this season? We haven't lost any games where we were double-digit favorites. So am I to assume you are pleased with this season so far?

CJ tall therefore he must be good. Let it go.

People ***** about sticking to seniors and now one gets demoted and people ***** cause a tall te that cant get open gets passed over for a better te.

Too bad they are lacking at dback cause i am betting p parker would have given lowery a break saturday

Pleased with the season so far? 4-1 is where I thought we would be.
Pleased with the momentum the last 3 years? Yes, I am.

Actually I'm quite happy with the outcome of the game. Keep on swinging and missing there, pal.

Nice selective editing in your sig there, by the way, and using it as "evidence". That quote was 100% sarcasm, and you know it.

At the beginning of the year I said that showing improvement and execution was more important than wins and losses.

Iowa is doing both and now they have 4 wins.

I think there are 2 or 3 more wins out there, and then Iowa will go bowling, which would be a tremendous achievement for this team.

Iowa is headed in the right direction once again.

The reason posts are down is that many of them are disguised Iowa State fans who only post when Iowa is losing. When Iowa wins, only Iowa fans post.

It doesn't require a degree in rocket science to understand this concept. This is a free board, so Iowa State fans can post, which they love to do.
