Iowa -3 over ISU

The quote you pasted seemed to be a critique of Rhodes and his hyper rah-rah style, and at the same time an endorsement of KF's emotionless, robotic style. Did I read you wrong?
I get that you hate Rhodes - that's well documented here. But to suggest that his style is somehow inferior to KF's zombie approach is laughable.

The coaches prepare you intellectually for the game - tendencies, formations, player preferences, etc. If I need to rely on the coach to get myself fired up, prepared and emotionally ready for the game I shouldn't even be playing.

The thing is, you're not playing. Fact.

"The coach who tries to get his kids sky-high emotionally," the former dual major in psychology and sociology atMichigan went on, "is the coach who's always gonna have that big letdown during the season. He's the guy whose kids are gonna get knocked off by that last-place club. You keep giving the kids that needle every Saturday and that point's gonna get awfully dull. Anyway, all kids react differently. You can tell one kid something and you'll get him jumping right out of his shoes with enthusiasm, and you tell another guy the same thing and he'll look at you and say, 'Hell, you're a little balmy.' My own concentration is on football, not emotion."

Forest Evashevski. But what did he know.

That's as close to free money as it gets. The odds makers don't know Kurt like we know Kurt. It's like insider trading.

As it happens Iowa is undefeated vs ISU in years ending with 3. They are 5-0 winning by an average of 14 points. 3 is there lucky number as they continue the trend of 3s, giving 3, converting a lot of field goals and winning 29-14 to make it 6-0 on the 3s.

Interesting if true.

or accuse one person of having multiple screen names, or alts, as may be the case with you and one other gambler in this thread.

So I have multiple screen names? And I am the same person as someone else who finds you less than entertaining? Wow! It sounds like you may need a $31 shrink and to go back on your psychotropics to knock down those paranoid delusions.

you should get out there and sell some more. or at least get some exercise.

I get why "oddsmakers" post odds, and why they post them a certain way.

What I do NOT get is why Average Fan places so much stock in them. As far as "trends", i.e., "X" has a record of
Y % against the spread, that's certainly cool.

But again, for Average Fan, it can be white-knuckle enough in ANY Hawks game. Why make it worse by showing a historical "jinx" or "luck" factor?

Just because I don't think KF should be fired, and I'm not a hater like you, doesn't mean I'm his "defender". His record stands for itself, and I have said numerous times that if he has another 4 win season this year, I will be saying he should be fired.

That is the thing about you haters. If everyone doesn't agree with you, they somehow drink KoolAid, or are some lover of KF.
How can we be considered haters if, using your criteria, KF should keep his job with 5 wins and 7 losses? IMO, you're a hater of Iowa football... and a lover of KF. Or are you just saying give KF another chance, then another, then another. Pretty soon his team will have a record above .500 for the season... SIAP.
