Any Hawkeye bars in Ames?

Might be tailgating in Ames this weekend. No tickets yet, so might just watch at a bar. Any "iowa" bar in Ames? Would rather be surrounded by majority of Hawk fans than Cyclone fans.

Don't get me wrong, I think you would have a better chance of finding a Hawk bar in Ames than a Clown bar in IC but I don't think you will find a dedicated Iowa friendly bar. I do happen to know that one of the regular bartenders at the Tip Top is a huge Iowa fan/Clown hater although I won't mention who just in case clown nation would decide to retaliate.

Ok maybe in Ames was the wrong choice. How about within the Ames area? Ankeny is a short drive.

If Ankeny is within you're radar stay on I-35 south until it merges with I-235 then got off on 63rd in Windsor Heights. Go north a half mile, turn left on University then find a parking spot around the two story building flying the Hawk flag and the two Herky statues outside. My friend, you have arrived at the Front Row.

I thought the Ames B-Dubs was a Hawkeye bar? Isn't that why the clowns boycotted it?

Haha was just going to say this. If there was a Hawk bar in Ames, there would be a constant boycott outside 23/7 year round --If they didn't burn it down.

Well let's be honest...are there any cyclone bars outside of Ames?

Yes, there is one down here in Austin. Well, at least there was. I think they got butt hurt because the sound for their game was switched over to something else. I wasn't there, just heard about it. But from past experience, they have a great crowd for the Iowa game and then steadily dwindles. So I'm guessing they were probably outnumbered 5-1 or so when it happened. If they called for a boycott it didn't work because the place is still there.
