what happened to these guys as assistants

Thomas- from detroit mercy
McCollum (sp?) i dont remember where he was from

i know those two were thrown around early and it would be nice to get some one to recruit detroit- we will have major recruiters in 3 or 4 big time areas in chicago, florida/southeast, east coast, and detroit

Are you referring to Detroit Mercy head coach Ray McCallum? He just secured a commitment from his son,Ray junior, a McDonald AA,top 20 pg, to play for him at Detroit Mercy. I do not think he was ever a candidate for the Iowa assistant job.

Not sure about Thomas.

If you want someone to recruit Detroit area and has had success doing it.. look no farther than the Iowa Athletic Dept... Rich Walker is still working in it. He is responsible for our pipeline to guys like Kenyon Murray and Mon'ter Glaspar

Guy Rucker was a Walker guy also.
And of course his nephew is a prize defensive tackle recruit coming in to play for KF next year also....so yes, Rich continues to be useful to Iowa:)

This is the guy I was thinking of. Is he still in the running? Maybe it was on the other site but I remember thinking he had some good recruiting connections
