ALL 13 MAC Head Coaches vs Ferentz: Who makes more?

I just calculated the total salary of the 13 head coaches in the MAC and it appears ol Kirky boy makes more than all of them.....COMBINED!

I dont know Ferentz's exact salary but it is always referred to as 4 mil plus incentives. Well, the total salary of the 13 MAC coaches (Yes, the same ones who are handing us our behind...at home no less.....with recruits who all would have jumped at the chance to play here) is a whopping 3.9 million. They average 300k which would make them low level assistants here.

I am no math major, but i do not think we are getting much bang for our buck. So would you take 13 MAC Head Coaches or 1 Kirk Ferentz? I bet those 13 MAC boys would make one heckuva staff here and we could still save 100k.

Your facts are wrong, but hey you have had season tickets for 25 years but somehow do not know KF's salary? Starting to be convinced you are a pure troll.....you want to leave Iowa football so just go away, ok?

So, you think "ol Kirky boy" has met the "incentives"?

Oh, and, Karl Marx says "hi-ya".

Swing and a miss...BIG swing and a miss. I dont see anything in the above post about level playing fields, all people getting paid the same or any other socio-communist concept.

Quite the contrary. Great success = greater pay. That's about as free market as you get. Ferentz ISN'T performing to the level of his compensation...he should earn less, or deliver better results. That's capitalism baby.

If you're so PO'd about KirFer's salary, don't you think you should be mad at GarBar?

I was actually looking up the NFL head coaching salaries the other day, you know, just for kicks, and Capt. Gumchew actually makes more than 13 of them. That is just staggering.

Please list the revenue football brings in at the 13 MAC schools and then tell us Iowa's football revenue.

k thx bai

Horrible response. As all can see by the lack of success over the past few years, the revenue Iowa Football brings in is not directly linked to the team's performance. Thus, to imply that Ferentz is the one who is wholly responsible for our revenue stream is wrong, and simple minded. K?

If 4-8 leads to 70,000 people for the opener, what that tells me is Iowa fandom has a self sustaining revenue stream, regardless of whether Kirky boy is at the helm, or if PJ Fleck took the reins. All this fan base needs is a little success every few years to keep them coming back, and my point is I think 13 MAC head coaches can do that more cost effectively. If Kirky boy is gone, our revenue does not dry up. Dont act like he is Tom Cruise who can make a crappy movie but will still put people in the seats. We dont come to see Kirky- heck, I come despite his presence.

K? tnx bai

KF has a very low ROI. Sadly its not just football. Iowa athletics across the board are poor - last in the B1G

That's not really capitalism at all. Capitalism has never been results based. Capitalism is getting what people are willing to pay you. There is a reason why the best teacher in America makes less than the worst baseball player in America.

I didn't know Kirk salary was pegged to game attendance/football revenue? Here I thought college football head coach compensation was pegged to wins and losses. I'd coach at Iowa for 90k a year, by your logic we'd have about 1,100 people show up to the games. You fail at life.
