A little concerned about Kyle Meyer. PTL isn't exactly known for defense.

Why would you be concerned? He still has 4 years left on campus.

Unreasonable to expect him to contribute much this year considering who is playing ahead of him at the 4 and 5. Iowa has Basabe, McCabe, White, Woodbury, Olaseni and probably a little bit of Uthoff that will play the 4 or 5 ahead of Meyer this year.

Not everybody is going to be expected to come in and play a lot of minutes right away.

If Olaseni just hits the boards a little bit harder, he will average a double double easily this year...

He may not be expected to contribute much, if at all, this year. But 9 points in a pick up league isn't exactly encouraging, considering everybody else is scoring 20 or more.

And hes on a team with Woodbury and Jok so he is at best the 3rd scoring option on that team. All the other Iowa guys on scholly are either the 1st or 2nd options on their team.

Meyer doesn't concern me because I feel he won't have a real role on the court until he is a SR if at all.

Uthoff and Jok are the ones I am looking at the most, because they are the new blood on the team. The fact that both of them seem to know how to knock down shots is very encouraging even if it is just pickup games.

I guess every response should begin with "I know this is just the PTL," but I am excited to see both Woodbury and Olesani putting up offensive numbers.

"I know this is just the PTL,"
After seeing some of the pics from HawkCentral, this is definitely the case.

This is what I think he was basically getting at. Maybe it's not worth being "concerned" over, but it's probably an indicator that he has a very long ways to go before he can contribute.

He is definitely a long ways away. I just think that even Kentucky has guys that keep the bench from flying away.

Um, not really on schollie. They get shown the door, which is not uncommon these days in college hoops. Unless some guy is an amazing raw talent, or the best friend or brother of a five star or the coach's kid, players who don't contribute by their Jr year just don't seem to stick around much.

Hard to imagine that Fran is going to keep a player on the Andrew Brommer developmental track too long.

I'm concerned cause he's only scoring 9 pts in the prime time league after having already spent a season redshirting. PTL is playground ball with very little defense. I'm concerned for him, not the team. The team doesn't need him this coming season and I dont see him having much impact given what he is doing so far.
Yes, I know all the cliches. "Don't give up on him already" "Quit bashing him!" blah blah blah.
Just saying, 9 pts in PTL is pretty weak.
