Who beyond Fiedorowicz can make plays?

Is it even proven that CJF can make plays?

Im hoping the JUCO WR being brought in can make plays. He averaged 30 yards per catch last year. KMM has showed flashes.

That question may never be answered if we don't target anyone beyond 3 yds this year. It would be criminal if we didn't routinely try to exploit the mismatches he creates.

I think any of those players listed in the article can make plays. It's the communication and mutual understanding with the QB of what route should ran that was the issue.

Greg Davis can make plays. He's got this one he drew up where the receiver runs sideways..............

Willie Guy believes that there is too much hype around CJF.:) There will be opportunities for CJF to make plays if they get made or not remains to be seen. Lot of opportunities on seam routes that did not get taken advantage of for a variety of reasons last season.

CJ was hyped last year and Davis didn't even use him until the end of the year. How many great players have be under utilized at iowa and then shine in the nfl. He will be another one.

Name one such player. I sure can't think of any.

This. Peoples complaints about the program have gotten so ridonkulous that most of them arent even true anymore.

The only one I can think of that even remotely fits that description is Shonn Greene (lightly used in 2005, moved to corner for a brief period). But even that's a reach, IMO. He wasn't ready to be "the guy" as a freshman/sophomore. He ran too upright and had a tendency to put the ball on the ground. Plus, we already had Young and Sims.

Our definition of underutilized is usually tied to things like "WTF?! Why isn't Hyde returning punts?!"

Or he is alluding to the # of guys getting drafted not matching up with the # of wins on the field. Do not want to get into a debate, skilled position players vs. non-skilled or any of that i am just throwing it out there as something he is possibly getting at.

doesn't kirk always say the "best player will play no matter who it is" all the time and then it never happens.

Need to get something from these guys:
Juco WR
Cotton
KMM
Canzeri in slot
Bullock in slot
T Smith
Freshman WRs......Just one good one with some hands and wiggle please

The other TEs - Hamilton, Duzey, etc

I really liked our double tight formation last year. We could run the ball nicely and had wide open short to medium passes if we could just throw and catch. If we had any mobile QB we could have had many 10-20 yd scrambles as well.

CJF had 45 catches last year, despite Iowa having one of the very worst passing games in college football, and one of the most anemic passing attacks in the program's modern history.

Where do those 45 catches rank single season all-time for the Hawkeyes, a top 5 program for producing tight ends?
