More evidence to support my 2013 Iowa vs Isu prediction.......................

Keep telling yourself lies. If Iowa can't play in the big 10 consider a conference that matches their ability.

Easy there big fella, if not for Jesse Smith you would be 0-3 in your last 3 bowl games against perennial powers Rutgers, Tulsa and Minnesota.

I think it will be a toss up. Playing at Jack Trice gives ISU the advantage and we should know by now that talent doesn't always mean victories.

Yeah if not for Tate that Tate to what's his name wouldn't have happened.

ISU fan says this crap all the time about the Big 12 and football with ISU. Where do you think Iowa fan got this argument from? It is from hearing it all season long during football.

In essence you are saying ISU needs to join the Big East in football since they have won 12 conference games over the last 4 years in the Big 12. At least Iowa can go .500 in the best BB conference, whereas ISU goes .333 in arguably the 2nd or 3rd best conference in FB.
Thought leadership.

Beating the defending national champs loaded with NFL talent or getting worked by Tulsa, Rutgers and nearly by a 6-6 Minnesota team........Yeah, I get the logic in that comparison.

1-They weren't defending any longer. That ship sailed.
2-I was simply mirroring the logic of "if so and so didn't make that one play". I get your point his point was silly.

The problem comes in when one team takes it much more seriously. Sports is about adrenalin and focus which at a high level when your are really up. Why do you think the clowns beat down the Hawks so much? Talent?

Iowa is a historic slow starting team? Lots of inconsistency early in most seasons it seems.

Off the top of my head...
Orange bowl team barely beat UNI, who didn't go to the FCS playoffs.
3 point win vs Arky state?
Goaline stand to beat mediocre Syracuse team.
Pitt was dismantling Iowa for 3 qtrs before a huge spirited comeback.
The debaclle in the desert back in 04(?)
Lost @ Pitt in 08.
Hawks 1st half meltdown vs Arizona in 2010 costing them a W.

Iowa is rankled with quite a few other head scratchers in the non con over the years.

If ISU wins next year, it'll be close. Their wins in this series (at least since 1998) have generally been of that variety, save for 2005. If we're going to use the 2009 and 2010 games to define an ***-kicking, ISU (in general) doesn't do that against Iowa, regardless of venue.

If Iowa wins, history since 1998 tells us that the margin of victory will be somewhere around 14 points. The games Iowa wins in this series usually aren't close affairs, regardless of venue.

This is a funny thread. ISU wins this fall. Iowa needs an OC and their DC hasn't proven he is worthy of holding Norm's jock.

Kirk is nothing without Norm saving the day by great defensive coaching.

Well, it happened again just today.

Talked to a clone fan and they admitted they'll only win 3 games this year.

If Iowa does not beat ISU this year, well, what can I say?

I don't know why you think a Clone fan saying something is news.

Iowa and ISU will be close- they are both very bad teams. ISU probably wins at home, when Rhoads(sp?) does something bold that Kirk would never think of. Like not punting from the 35.

I have about exhausted every thought I have on this topic. Not sure what else I can add to it without repeating myself again and again. Read my previous posts if you want my answers as to why I strongly believe Iowa will win.

What if Iowa isn't very bad next year though?

So listening to a fan is a basis for your prediction? Want to make some bets next fall?

I think that's a double negative?

DICTIONARY
double negative
Definition
dou·ble neg·a·tive

dou·ble neg·a·tivesPlural

NOUN

1.
use of two negatives: a phrase containing two negatives

Word Usage
Double negatives of the type I don't know nothing, in which two negatives close together are intended to reinforce each other, are considered illiterate in current standard English, acceptable though they were in earlier usage. These are to be distinguished from the acceptable, if somewhat uncommon, construction That's not a good idea, I don't think, in which the reinforcing negatives appear in different clauses. The more usual type of acceptable double negative is seen in It is not impossible (= it is distinctly possible), in which the negatives are intended to cancel each other out. This is a figure of speech called litotes, a form of understatement.
