What happens this Summer?

The NCAA rules restrict summer league competition to playing with only one current college teammate. PTL has 4 teams, which means only 8 current Iowa players can participate.

Jok doesn't count, nor sure about Meyer and/or Uthoff.

In any event, there are not enough teams to provide spots for the current players. How do you think they address this issue?

Is this a new rule? Because they only had 4 teams last year and all the Hawks were able to play in he PTL. I know there has always been a limit, thought it was a larger number.

Doesn't count for incoming freshmen, or Uthoff last year. There were only 2 returning players on each team.

And no, it isn't a new rule.

Can the PTL have more teams or is there a limit? Why not get Dairy queen or a local construction company to sponsor 2 more?

I think losing some of the other schools who were sending players really hurt. Just hard to get enough guys to keep the competition to a decent level.

They will have to add more teams if they want a spot for all current Iowa players.

Still don't know about Uthoff and Meyer, though. Can't see anything in the bylaws about how ineligible or RS players count.

With up to 2 hours of daily instruction from coaches now legal, I can see the Iowa coaches keeping guys out of PTL.

Hopefully the new players get to play with existing players so the new players dont feel left out and transfer

Right caar?
