depending on if any upsets in the last couple major tournaments.

I'm assuming we are one of those 13 even if it is #13.

In addition...he just said that if the RPI and Kenpom are really different it will cause him to really look at that team to see what is up.

I'm sure that goes both ways for Iowa...bad SOS, lots of close games and great efficiency ratings.

That is why our RPI is high, non-conference SOS

I don't get how we plummeted after losing barely to the number 7 rpi team and iowa st gains by getting handled to the #8 team. Seriously the teams ahead of us the next 10 slots are a joke

The fact that they consider KenPom is a good sign or so it seems......

Wisconsin beating Indiana is a plus for us.....

More than likely it will be the NIT, but I do have a problem with Minnesota getting in ahead of us. They lost six of their last nine game, including Nebraska and lost the opening game in the Big Tournament......

Gottbeib again said he has the Hawks in, but then there are those on HN who are much more basketball savvy than him.....

Not so much those on HN but the dozens of other professional "bracketologists" who do not have Iowa in. Has anyone other than Gottleib said we are in? Not to my knowledge

To me that says they are going to look really hard at Iowa. Who else would fall into the category of those being "really different" to even mention it.

Gottlieb said last week that if Iowa finishes 9-9 and wins 1 in BTT he has them in. He is going to move from his position.

link? I googled it but couldnt find the website

Basketball Predictions

2nd post down but here is quote

"To me, the final two spots came down to three teams: Kentucky, Iowa and Boise State. I made an executive decision to go with Boise State and Iowa, but really, both of those teams could fall out anyway if a team like UMass or Ole Miss pops in over the next two days. If I was going to give a probability for an at-large bid, Boise State, Kentucky and Iowa would all be below 50%. So in the end, I think all will be out. I just don't know if it will be UMass or Alabama or Ole Miss or whoever else who gets a big win and knocks them out."

Bama already lost so it wont' be them....but UMass/Ole Miss playing right now.

Thanks - who is that guy?

Probably nobody...but he writes on pretty much ever game for the entire season so I am pretty sure he has no life and watches too much basketball.

I am hitching my cart to his horse like Gottlieb is to Iowa.

Calling it now, Iowa vs Kentucky in the play in game

I don't think we have ever beaten Kentucky. Seems like during the Mr. Davis years we would play either Duke or Kentucky in the second round......

Wonder if it would be better to play in the NIT than one and out against Kentucky if that is how it turns out.....

All idle speculation right now.....

We will all know tomorrow. It is a good sign that some of us are even seriously considering being in the NCAA Tournament. Last season we didn't think we would be in the NIT......
