More evidence to support my 2013 Iowa vs Isu prediction.......................

but it's easy to bring real good talent to Iowa City every year?

signed,

"we will not be recruiting the state of florida anymore"

When has your recruiting ever been as good as Iowa's? Answer: It hasn't and never will be. You got Lazard. Congrats. He was born and raised a Cyclone fan. That doesn't catapult you into a statement that your recruiting is equal to Iowa. Heck, even after Iowa had an epically bad season they still finished slightly ahead of ISU in the recruiting rankings I've seen.

Nope, I think you know that nobody thinks that. I believe it's a brain dead move for Iowa to focus on nothing more than 8 hours from Iowa City. I've gone on at length about this in other threads. And if Iowa continues to take this stance in recruiting, I think that Rhoads will overtake Iowa in the talent advantage eventually.

The edge that Iowa historically has over ISU and still has is they have much more of a winning tradition in terms of conference wins and bowl game wins. That's why ususally the talent advantage has been with Iowa. It wasn't last year. But it will correct itself this year.

Look, I want this game to be a good one this year. I don't want a blowout. But as everyone knows, a football team is only as good as its line play. This year, Iowa will have a good interior on both lines, Isu will not.

Iowa isn't even getting the best recruits in the state of Iowa anymore. that's the entire reason that they're hosting a practice in des moines, coincidentally at the same time as ISU's spring game.

Pretty bold statement. Guess that remains to be seen.

You may very will be right about Isu getting the best in state talent now. However, it doesn't matter all that much because the state doesn't produce many D-1A players. But your point is well taken. That's bad for Iowa when they can't even win the in state recruiting battle any more.

next year ISU will be ahead of Iowa, no question

Scheel? Pierschbacher? Smart guys don't want to play in a high school stadium when they are in college.

Best recruits from Iowa...means very little...for either team.

As for the practice...does it matter?

Hey genius... did you see the part of my post where I said "Even after Iowa had a horrible season they still finished SLIGHTLY ahead of ISU" ? I never said they were way ahead. Both teams are going to have down seasons next year, but the Cyclones are going to be just plain awful. I'm talking like 2-4 wins awful. ISU can't continue to improve their recruiting without continuing to show improvement. Iowa will get players regardless because of something ISU doesn't have... tradition. You honestly think after another terrible season in Ames you're going to have a better recruiting class? Keep drinking the kool-aid.

All ISU fans will say Iowa is desperate for playing their spring game in Des Moines. Which is exactly why I think it's a fantastic idea. Iowa has struggled to get kids from Des Moines, specifically Valley. You can call it desperate all you want, but in reality it's just a smart recruiting decision. You're butthurt about it because you realize that.

Don't you think this should have happened before desperation set in?

In the 36 games played between Iowa and Isu since 1977 the results clearly show that the Iowa program is ahead. Iowa has averaged 27.03 points per game to isu 16.25 points per game. That is an average margin of 10.78 points per game. That means that Iowa is 39.88% ahead of isu that is a wide margin.

Also of the 36 games since 1977 Iowa has won 23 of them. That is 63.89% so Iowa is well ahead in both margin and total victories.
