What do you mean usually fairly accurate? Do you really think Iowa deserves to be 29th after going 4-7 against the top 50 with teams that have clearly produced much better results ranked far below?

Per the KenPom ratings, of the 7 losses, 6 of the 7 are ranked higher than Iowa and the 7th is ranked just behind the Hawks. So yes .. I think it is fairly accurate.
What a joke. Kenpom has Wisconsin 5th right now so you probably think theyre one of the favorites for a national title as well. Look at the teams behind Iowa in kenpom, only a complete fool would think Iowa is the 29th best team in the country.

There are also teams ahead of Iowa that the Hawks are better then. So it all evens out.

I would guess Ken Pomeroy is more respected for his basketball knowledge than any of us on here writing about him as a joke.

Who is better than Iowa in Kenpom that ranked behind them? For starters 95% of the teams ranked 30th through 55th. Kenpom has Buter ranked 52nd, do you really think there is any possible way that Iowa deserves to be ranked ahead of them at all, much less by 23 spots.

I may be mistaken but KenPom incorporates into his rankings HOW you played against your competition. ie was the team competitive, did the game go down to the last 2 minutes, the last minute, last shot or overtime? That is what is totally missing from RPI and most SOS.
This just in: The COMPETITIVE EYEBALL Rankings... Iowa passes it with flying colors, that's why KenPom, Vegas and to certain extents BPI and Sagarin has Iowa rated so high.
Screw the polls and the pundits, the money changers and bean counters, the RPI and the selection committee... Iowa IS a tournament team and CAN make a run.
