What a great story. Left for dead after the horrific Lickliter debacle and injuries last year. But he just keeps working:

1. Terrific student.
2. Great leadership and tough play.
3. Great defender and rebounder.
4. Unselfish team player.

His dunk and one today turned the game around. So proud of him and this team. They are making Iowa BB fun again.

If he doesn't win the Chris Street award it will be a travesty. He sure deserves it.
 


He won't be Iowa's leading scorer or rebounder this year, but he very well might be Iowa's MVP if he keeps this up. Awesome
 






He could be the MVP. There is a lot of talent on this team but if you dont have leadership then you give away games. Which we have seen. May is showing a lot and the team is starting to gel. He doesnt score like Gatens did but looks to have taken over his role well in the later part of this season.
 


You guys are crazy! Don't you know that this team won't be "back" until guys like May and McCabe aren't a part of it??? We need better players! Don't let their toughness and positive contributions fool you! They may be kicking butt, but who cares? That's not the important thing to look at!

How can you have the audacity to post this garbage after the games May and McCabe had today. You should be perma banned immediately.

This team has plenty of young talent...but badly needs a leader. (Marble has shown, he's not it).

May, is the guy that can get this team into the tourney.
 


I will gladly eat my crow in regards to May. I didnt think there was a chance of him playing a meaningful role on this team this year. He has had a fantastic season and is playing the best ball of his career down the stretch. Extremely happy for him.
 


He's definitely playing very well. He's almost become automatic from the floor, simply because (1) his shot simply looks a little more smooth, and (2) he picks his shots so well. Then throw in his leadership, defense, and ability to get the crowd into the game with a dunk, and he brings a lot of value to the team without being a dominating scorer.
 


It is so good for Eric May to have success this year. May has had so many detractors on this and other message boards especially beginning last year and even up to a month or so ago.

It's really amazing what can happen when someone is healthy, continues to work his *** off, and his game and decision making matures. That's why fans should always give up on players such as Eric well before their senior years.

I think this is the key here. All his shots have been very selective and as Spank said the other day is he finally healthy and he can go out and play his game. Plus he isn't asked to do some much like he was his freshman year.
 






Lol. And I never laugh out loud. Dude, I stood in line for four and a half hours in the cold to watch oblacka speak in DSM. Lighten up, the goof on his name is nothing more than that.
