So is Dev's foot better then?

Most every team has been upset, yes. But, by your own definition of having a pulse, Northwestern is not on the same level as Wisconsin, Miami, Illinois, Georgetown, Pitt, etc. You don't see that many bad team upsetting the good ones at this point. You see a lot of the good teams getting beat by solid quality opponents.

In most conferences, Northwestern would be winning a lot more games and probably be a good bet to get in the tourney. But the Big Ten is loaded this year.

Doesn't matter if they would win more games in another conference...we might too. But we are compared to the other teams in our conference. If "ifs and buts" were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry christmas. The fact is they are in the b10 and won't make it. Those are the same teams we must beat and since we were favored over the wildcats I want to see us do it in the big games. The whole team needs to show up for those not just marble or anyone else.

I think he's arguing that northwestern is a decent team to prove that Marble having a good game against them meant something.

Foval seems to have great points and then he rambles an contradicts himself.... White has and always been a trash man... put backs, transition slams and hustle scores. It's not that suprising that he isn't scoring 15+ consistently in the b1g

I don't disagree...but I want to see some consistency. For iowa to get to the ncaa tourney they need the marble from the beginning of the season not the games leading up to this. And if he gets back there he will be keyed on by defenses and open things up for other players.

I am also worried about how white has been doing. It is confusing that his play would trail off like it has. But that might be because teams have keyed on him since marble has been struggling. So marble getting back to his old self against good teams could help him too.

False, IMO. Iowa needs the Marble of tonight, not the OOC Marble. Devyn did a lot more of the things that made him successful before this year; utilizing his pull-up game, driving to the rim with the intention of either finishing or dishing off (rather than trying to draw a foul), posting up smaller defenders, etc. Plus, he did a great job finding teammates for easy buckets.

Tonight, we saw a better version of point guard Marble.

This.

This. White has been slumping lately, too. Nobody seems to talk about it because they've been obsessed with Marble's particular brand of slumpage. But Aaron has really been struggling lately, and will continue to do so until he can develop a reliable jump shot. Teams are simply taking away the drive in the half court, and he's not effective when that happens. He'll never be a consistently effective half court player if his jumper doesn't improve.

I love Aaron... but his useless pumpfakes drive me insane... Shoot the 3 when you're open once in awhile. Even if you miss and it's close teams will close out more and you can actually use the pump fake and get to the rack

The thing I don't understand is White actually has a decent jumper. At least as good as anyone else on the team has been shooting. Shot the ball Whitey!

Dev still looked gimpy at times, but I think getting off to the fast start that he did, got his adrenaline going. He looked better and better as the game wore on.

I agree that last night's version of dev is the best version. What I mean about the early season dev is that the offense went through him on a consistent basis because he was pretty consistent. Until yesterday the offense wasn't going through him because he was struggling so much. This in turn hurt white's game as he had to do more than just dunk and drive in the halfcourt. It also put more on mg and ac's tables for creating in the halfcourt and they aren't ready for that against big time competition. Everyone's role is a much better fit for their skills when dev plays like last night and the ooc. We need that dev to beat minny or purdue or even have a shot versus indiana. And that doesn't mean he has to score 21 pts but has to disrupt the other teams defense and force them to help against him. And he is the type of player that his defense feeds off his offense (not always but lately it seems to be worse if he plays bad on offense).
