This conference is no joke. Illinois has struggled but as everyone has stated they live and die by the 3. Can't say I'm upset to see them win that game. Lets hope they got that out of their system so they shoot flat when we play them.

Well at the end of the season, if it comes down to either Illinois or Iowa(meaning they have comparable records), Illinois just added another quality win. Add that to Butler and Gonzaga and they are going to be an easy choice over an Iowa team that hasn't beaten anybody and is running out of chances to beat anyone of quality.
Even if Iowa were able to somehow reach .500 in the conference, I don't see both teams getting into the dance. In the "looking ahead" game, it does feel like a loss to Iowa to me.

Illinois will **** their pants again this year and lose a few more they probably shouldn't to offset that win. I'm sure Iowa will do the same though.

We have chances for quality wins against Minn and Illinois, now if Illinois is going to start beating teams again then that win would look even better. We can't know yet that it will be a choice between Ill and Iowa; considering the Big East might get 7 teams in, I think both teams belong in the tournament.

I think both Michigan (took OT to beat Ohio State at home) and Indiana came out of their big game Saturday a little flat...not a good idea in this conference this year. When Illinois is making the 3 they are tough to beat but that's their whole game.
I don't think an NCAA bid comes down to either Iowa or Illinois. If Illinois goes 8-10 and wins their 1st round BTT game I don't see how they don't make it. If Iowa goes 10-8 and wins their 1st round BTT game they probably make it and almost certainly make it with 2 BTT wins IMO.

Wow... their RPI was already way above Iowa's. Will be interesting to see how many spots they pick up with that win.
