Iowa doesn't have a best player, that is really the issue. If Iowa doesn't go out of there way to utilize ball movement instead of standing around, that is the end result; pure ugliness.
I'm not sure if he's trying to showcase his outside shooting for the NBA scouts or what but he just doesn't take the ball to rim as much as he used to.
He might be a little banged up but he can still drive to the rim. He did yesterday for the last shot, he just struggles to make shots of any kind. Layups, FTs (important ones), floaters, jumpers, whatever are tough for him to make.

Nobody seems to be as good as Fran publicly states. Marble an NBA player? Please. He's a solid player for us but he's not going to the NBA let alone leaving early. He's not quick enough or a good enough shooter to play in the NBA for his size.
Oglesby the best shooter he's ever seen? He's shooting 23% from 3 point range and he really isn't even close on most his 3's.
Gesell a future NBA player? Love the kid and his game. But anyone that watches the NBA realizes there aren't Mike Gesell's in the NBA. He's going to be a great college player and thats fine but I wish Fran would stop with his talk. All it does is give stupid fans a reason to ***** when a player isn't as good as they thought he would be (b/c Fran said so)
Seriously, do you ever think that you might come here and not call out a player by saying that aren't any good?

I forgot not buying into the hype that Marble is an elite player makes me a troll. All I said about Jok is I personally don't see him contributing much next year as we have more talent elsewhere. He had one offer besides us and that was Drake, I look at that as being realistic. Don't see how that is hating or bashing anyone
You never add anything constructive, just bashing of players, that makes you a troll.
I don't buy into the hype of Marble, I haven't all season long (the NBA talk was a joke).
I think Peter Jok will contribute if healthy, he is a real scorer something Iowa doesn't have unless Marble is healthy which is still a concern/possibility right now.

Teams cooled off on him after the injuries. By all accounts, the old athleticism is finally coming back. But most programs don't take fliers on a kid like him. Iowa can because he's an in-state kid who, at worst, will give a desperately need boost to our 3-point shooting.
Don't even try to explain things to him. Clearly back when he starte the Peter Jok thread about how he didn't understand why HN had all these threads started over this kid with "minimal" offers. I went back and counted 1% of the last 200 threads were about Peter Jok. He is here to troll, not discuss actual basketball.

This is exactly right. They are both good players just not #1 type options in the best leauge in the country.
They do allot of good things but neither does any one thing extremely well with the ball in their hands.
I think Iowa has guys here or coming that will be that. I think both Gessell and Woodbury can develop into #1 options as well as possibly Jok. Clemmons has the potential to be an excellent set up guy too which can be as impactful as having a #1 scorer.

He's the leading scorer on the team so I understand why it makes sense to go to him in the end of the game. However when someone is hot and having a particularly good game, I don't see why they didnt try to get Gesell off a screen. If it's not their hopefully there should be a hole in the defense else where.
I tend to think he's hurting. He doesn't have the lift on his jumper the last month. If he shoots even remotely decent the last month we are 4-3 in the Big Ten at worst. We need him desperately to get back on track if we want any reasonable chance of postseason
