Trivia Question

Herby would have came in handy for ILHawk and his awesome trivia question. He is known for worthless trivia stuff and had he not known I am sure he would have spent hours researching it.

You don't get banned for not initiating calling people names, defending ones self without using synonym swear words and giving realistic analysis.

If this bores you don't click.

Was curious if anyone knew the answer. My comment about AW was only that he needs time to develop. How that transpires is up to Fran of course. The team whether they dance or not has greatly improved.

For the yawners and generally not nice posters, I like OKeefe4Prez comment.

"You should say "I couldn't care less" because when you say "I could care less" it implies that you actually do care because there is some degree less of caring that you could exhibit. Good luck."

I am honored you posted. You care....

No one knows the answer?

seriously???? Rob should have done this a long time ago instead of letting him chase everyone off. So now we will get fresh blood here from 24/7. Pretty soon Jon will have a monopoly here when it comes to Hawkeye forums. The best way to ruin any forum is to send Herby there.

Oh come on now, Herby was the life blood of forum. We are lucky anyone stayed here and they all didn't follow him to 24/7.

I miss trying to decypher his posts. Not enough to go to 24/7, half their posts are blocked for VIP/paying subscribers.

I got it but I think you took the long way around and it was pretty unclear at first what you were trying to say.

But also, Jon said this all long, if anyone here is going to keep slamming on Woody because of their own expectations, you aren't going to change that.

Jon couldn't get through to them, you won't either.

Can you confirm or deny that this player was a member of the 1972-1973 San Francisco Dons?

No he was not. He played in the WEST, but not in the SF Dons conference. He went from about 4 points per game 1st 2 years to getting drafted by the Suns.

His last game his team was beaten by the most famous coach ever in that coach's last appearance ever in an Elite 8 game.

I didn't realize either of those two were from SE Iowa. I know Settles is from Winfield. I guess that's SE Iowa? I'm not very good at small town Iowa geography.

Settles and Edwards were both at Winfield. They also had an underrated teammate named Eric Rawson who I believed graduated in 1995 that was an absolute beast that ended up going D1 as well. I think Burt Lappe also went D1 out of the class of 1995. For a small town like Winfield it amazed me that they could send 4 or 5 guys to D1 programs in the span of 4 or 5 years. Very impressive, until you ended up playing against them, and then it became a nightmare.

If he played for Arizona State in 1975, then two clues you game--Lute Olson not being a proven winner and the guy playing in the Sweet 16 the previous year--are both incorrect.

He probably played against Winfield Mt Union, but he was older. Winfield got their basketball start from an incredible girls 6x6 program. Eventually those girls became parents of boys. The rest is history.

And more proof you can blame a woman for anything!!

But you are wrong about him currently coaching there, he stepped down back in 2011. Another Iowa native, and former Drake Bulldog, Matt Woodley is now the Head Coach.

I never said he was coaching there. I saw his bio at Culver Stockton where he is now coach. My grandmother moved to Missouri and lived near the campus, so I follow them a bit.

Truman would be a hard place to coach as they have insane entrance requirements for such a small farm town public university.

Rawson was a stud, my HS played them in sub-state...he was very impressive. I was not at all impressed with Edwards and never was. Lappe was just a soph when we played them, he didn't play a whole lot.

Settles was so physically impressive and just toyed with us, he dunked twice, one was really impressive. The unheralded kid they had was abou six foot played the 4 he was a great rebounder.

Still hard to believe they lost to Hudson when Settles was a Senior.
