No different, worse, or better when the students (and others) "boo'd" Brust everytime he touched the ball on Saturday. Sh!t happens on the road. Get over it.

White is a member of Fran's early teams. I hope Iowa gets better players.

He probably won't ever be a first team all american, but their are a lot of teams that would want White now. The Iowa basketball coaches are good at recognizing talent. I wish he could shoot better though.

Didn't the ASU coach--I think it was Bill Frieder--actually stop the game and get on the PA system when that happened? IIRC, he said something to the effect that ASU could forfeit then and there. Some ASU students had the gall that week to write the campus paper and say forfeiting wasn't Frieder's call to make without consulting university brass. Thankfully, for one of the few times in modern media history, Arizona commentators and columnists backed Frieder and thought the students insane.

The chants happened before the game. Pretty disgusting ...

Yet when he hammers one home and screams / stares at the player he just posterized, the majority of people can't get enough of it? Can't have it both ways. Either show some emotion or shut your mouth. Which is it?

I am not asking to have it both ways.

I am asking for White to not be a gomer and talk smack when they are down by 20.

With Spank here. I like that about Aaron ... a feistiness that Iowa hoops hasn't had for a while. As long as he keeps it in check (doesn't commit stupid foul, get T'd up), uses it to drive his own game and motivate teammates, it's fine.

Keeping it in check is not mouthing off to an opposing teams student section while the Hawks are on the verge of getting blown out.

I find many student chants to be funny and entertaining. The one I remember most was when UI went to MSU (i think). This was back in the Jess Settles days. Settles was on his 9th year or so of eligibility. The students there were chanting, "Grandpa Settles!" I thought it was hilarious. Maybe Jess didn't.

I used to play a lot of ball and was heckled a lot. I kind of liked it. I always took it as a compliment and I had fun with it and used it as motivation. I wouldn't recommend ever saying anything, or acknowledging if it effects your game negatively, but a look here and there after you take it to them, bahhh, all in the competitive spirit. I remember one player from an opposing team that was set than me and very good. He would hit a three and spit on our floor! Actually look at our fans and spit on our floor. Did not go over well but he was damn good and very cocky. I still don't like that *****.

Nothing over the line there. Alls fair in love and basketball. I saw the Fab 5 deal on espn the other day. You wanna talk about some trash talkers...Being able to take it is a part of being a baller weather you dish it or not.

Totally agreed. I have always hated this dumb chant.

To the White thing, I'm not sure what people expect from a student section. Its true, they never offered White, so I don't see why fans should be offended by it. He's obviously gotten some respect from that state if they recognize him enough to try and heckle him like that.

Its funny cuz he was our leading scorer and probably wouldve put up 20 had the refs blown their whistle in the 1st half. They can chant whatever they want. Loved the staredown. Bet Thad’s shnoz would love to have Aaron at this point.
