Whar activerodent?

As annoying as he is, and trolling as he may have been, he was pretty close on his prediction. He had us winning by 7.

he had his team losing ... hard to hate on him in this case.

but still, feel free to generally gloat a little.

Not scared of nothing fella, just getting back from the game.

This was expected for all of the reasons that I stated prior to the game. This was probably Iowa's biggest game in years, they had a week to prepare, we were coming off of a emotional and physical game vs. Indiana and it's a Big Ten road game. Add it all up and you get what you got, which is pretty much exactly what I called prior to the game. I was at both the Indiana game and the Iowa game. Both atmospheres were lively but Assembly Hall has to be the toughest/loudest place to play in the BIG and that was comparing it on an average night for them.

I think the real barometer of how these teams stand is what happens on Tuesday. If Wisconsin beats MSU then we are probably only tied with Michigan and Indiana at the top of the league. If Iowa loses to OSU then a lot of the capital from this win goes away and you are 2-4. Same if Wisconsin loses to MSU, a lot of that capital from beating Indiana at Indiana goes away but we are 4-2. I like our position quite a bit better.

Losing to OSU on the road doen't make beating Becky Badger at home "go away."

No not at all but you are what your record says you are. Our record says we are 4-1, yours says you are 2-3. This season teams are expected to lose on the road as there are about 2-3 "gimmes" in the league. The rest could go either way on any given night.

It's pretty obvious that this game is to Iowa their "Super Bowl". What can you do on nights where it isn't free pizza night or the emotional anniversary of something?

oh btw badger, Iowa would be 4-1 also if they had your schedule. But hey, you do own a win over Indiana so you got that. ;)

You are missing the point of what I've been saying for weeks. To win this league, to compete for NCAA tournaments, to be even in the discussion, then teams MUST win their home games or certainly more than .500 at home. No one thought (myself included) that Wisconsin was going to go undefeated in the league. We picked up 2 road games so far and have protected our home court. Because of that we are in the thick of things.

Nice win last night but it doesn't take anything away from my larger point that it comes down to what a teams record is, their strength of schedule and who they have beaten. I'm not comparing Wisconsin to Iowa, I'm trying to win a BIG title and advance to the dance again. That is the goal in Wisconsin. In a year where we lost our starting PG a week before the season, we are doing just that.

If Wisconsin ends up being a "bubble team" then that means Iowa still has very few chances to pick up resume wins. If we fall back to the pack then beating Wisconsin isn't that for you.

YOU are trying to win a BIG title, really, what are you a coach?

You're delusional if you think that Wisconsin is the only team with these goals. Iowa has tournament goals as well but Iowa is coming from the bottom and working their way up, like Wisconsin did back in the 90s. But I suppose all those decades when "you" sucked the goal must have been something else.

Face it, all you want to do is down play this loss.
