My prediction

It's going to be a busy Friday and Saturday for me so I figured I'd put up my prediction early for the Iowa vs. Wisconsin game. I think I've mentioned it before but my wife and I have spent some time in Iowa and she's a grad so thus my interest in Iowa sports but I'm interested in the BIG in general. I'll be enjoying some wings at The Vine on Saturday.

First off Chris Street, I know the story and it was truly heartbreaking. Rest in Peace.

I think Iowa ends up in the victory column 74-67 in a 66 possession game.

--It will probably be the biggest crowd for an Iowa game in a decade
--An emotional game
--Traevon Jackson has been playing well but he didn't play at all last year and is still young. Mistakes will happen, it's a process.
--Iowa has had a full week to prepare for Wisconsin.
--Wisconsin is coming off of a physical and hard fought game to Indiana
--Iowa is solid at home. Despite the ribbing, Iowa can play, I don't think they are NCAA tournament team but I've seen quality play in stretches

The #1 reason----It is HARD to win on the road in the BIG. Nebraska is tough, Purdue is tough at home. PSU and NW seem to be the only spots to pick up a W.

It's also worth noting that Wisconsin's big man Frank Kaminsky will probably miss the game with Iowa after the inadvertent poke in the eye he suffered at Indiana. He plays 10 mins/game but he's improving (drilled 2 HUGE 3's vs. IU) and he's a very important reserve in terms of spelling Jared Berggren.

Zach Bohannon (yes I said Bohannon) is the guy most likely to fill in that role. We are having a hell of a time staying healthy this year. Gasser, Bruesewitz and now Kaminsky.

This seems to be working for him:

Toss-up. Wisky is rolling right now, playing their best ball of the year,so they have a lot momentum. As a very veteran team, the roadhouse will not bother them anymore than the full house at IU. Hawks have to come out hot, grab a lead, and play from ahead. I say an old-fashioned barnburner...Iowa 66 Wis 65.

Active: safe travels for you and your clearly intelligent lovely wife. Enjoy Carver!

I don't think this one is close. I think Iowa jumps ahead early with an amped up crowd behind them and stays out front the whole way.

Iowa - 74
Wisky - 59
