Free Throws...

I don't understand how Big Ten basketball players can be so consistently average from the free throw line...there is NO EXCUSE for this type of performance...our starting point guard is 55%...That's AWFUL...This isn't something that changes a lot either...other things can take "getting used to" such as the speed of the game etc...BUT this is still a 15 foot uncontested shot at a 10 foot hoop with the same ball size they've been using since freshman year of high school...the only thing that changes is people are yelling at them more...

If I was Fran they would all be shooting free throws until they were passed out and blue in the face...No excuse for being that poor down the stretch...

And if Josh Oglesby takes one more dribble pull up shot when he is supposed to be the three point shooter Fran should send him to the locker room...I don't get what he's trying to do, Josh be ready to shoot the dang rock, that's what you're on scholarship for!!

I believe it really comes down to conditioning which is something that has baffled me for the past couple of years. I love White's effort when he goes all out but if he truly looks to Gatens for advice perhaps the greatest lesson he could learn is how to play his butt off for a full 38min on BOTH sides of the ball. Same goes for Oglesby. Last season I gave them a pass when they needed to be pulled just to get a rest as they were freshmen and perhaps didn't realize the conditioning needed to keep up at the DI level but sadly both continue to visibly suck air again this year and I don't believe they are alone. It's like the team runs out of gas.

We're 4th in the B1G @ 70.8% Not last night though. 9/15 60%
Of course 70.8% of 15 is only 10 makes instead of 9, so BFD.
Our awful sloppy turnovers is what lost it.
