I am going to go out on a limb and assume Iowa puts a beatdown on Coppin State today and will finish the non-conference slate at 11-2. Here are my predictions for the B1G season for the Hawks:

@Michigan- L
MSU- W
@NW- W
Wisky- W
@OSU- L
@Purdue- W
PSU- W
@Minn- L
@Wisky- W
NW- W
@PSU- W
Minn- L
@Neb- W
Purdue- W
@Indiana- L
Illinois- W
Nebraska- W

12-6 in the B1G and 23-8 overall heading into the BTT.
 


That's not too bad. I think we drop one we should probably win like @Purdue and probably end up splitting with Minnesota.

I had the Hawks splitting with Minny but just could not pick them to go 13-5 so I had to find another loss. The Minny game at Carver was that loss I found.

If they finish 10-8 they are in.

I think they finish 9-9, which also puts them in.

Flip those two losses to Minnesota, and then we're talking. We match up well with them. 14-4 in the BoneG. Make championship game. Three seed in tourney.

I agree that they should be, I just look at the schedule and wonder if the committee will forget about them half way through the B1G. With my prediction, they would be sitting at 3-7 in the B1G before going on a roll.

10-8 and a bid in the NCAA, I think it is a bit too much to expect them to sweep Wisky again this year and a split with Purdue would be as good as I can expect.

Beat the bottom feeders and knock off Indiana/MSU and that earns a bid.
 








I think the Purdue games will be tough (at least the road game). They can't score, at all, and they have lost to and struggled to beat bad teams but they can rebound and they can defend and because of those factors, they will beat some decent teams (like us) especially at home.

If we start 4-1 in the conference, I will be extremely disappointed with 10-8.
